Did every member of the House make a deal? It would bind McCarthy, but it wouldn't bind everyone else that he made a deal. From what I can find, McCarthy and Biden individually made a "tentative deal" about raising the debt ceiling, one that doesn't bind Congress. If other people make a deal, no, I am not bound by it.
You seem like a stand up person and I have no doubt I would enjoy speaking with you over a beer - but your politics are scary.
@Salvy @ROXRAN there’s something wokes don’t get limited resources That’s for everything on this planet New York , Chicago , Texas , America Limited resources breh yeah there’s a legal way of doing immigration and for many reasons but wokes don’t understand and they don’t even know Spanish , there’s no such thing as Latinx
Do you not understand the law passed by Congress many years ago? You enter, then get processed. Many then get deported, but many get to stay while getting their claims heard/processed. That's the law. In the US federalist system, unlike where you're from, Presidents cannot change the law.
This is genius. @Salvy @Astrodome Now Mexico and Panama are deporting migrants before they come here while keeping all of trumps exact same stay in Mexico policies. There's no universe that trump was tougher on the border than Biden. It's bs
Largely agree. You should also take into account that with several of the countries the immigrants come from we have actively worked to wreck their economies.
Yeah, that's the law when an immigrant has entered the country.... You do understand they aren't suppose to enter the country? That's why its a country. What's more expensive? To keep people out of the country or to welcome them only to process them, give them a court hearing and then deport them or let them stay? Biden does not care about the border, does not care about illegal immigration. This isn't a debate or a criticism, this is the truth. Currently there are open borders, many many people are starting to get fed up with it. Yup, Bukele can make decisions based off of common sense without half the population of the country being over sensitive babies that have an urge to feel offended or persecuted by something. We need an America first president, that's what El Salvador did. That's what this country should do in 2024...
Biden administration is shamelessly pandering for votes. People forget the Biden administration is the DNC and the DNC is in trouble. They are losing to Donald J Trump. A man that is also a shameless scam artist. We need to get rid of these geriatrics in all politics. Go retire already.
I agree with you in the sense that the American immigration system is broken. You are from El Salvador, correct? Nobody wants to go to El Salvador to live compared to here, where everybody wants to come. Have you passed your citizenship test yet? I apologize if this sounds like I'm patronizing you, but I'm not. There are many Americans who do not understand our own system, and it is complicated in parts. The main point that most fail to understand is that Presidents don't make laws, period. They can adjust policy to a certain degree, but they do not make immigration law. So unless America pulls out from agreeing to the Geneva conventions and Congress decides to either rewrite our immigration laws or fund them as currently written, the sytem will stay broken. Presidents cannot fix that. Here is the law: "Any alien who is physically present in the United States or who arrives in the United States (whether or not at a designated port of arrival and including an alien who is brought to the United States after having been interdicted in international or United States waters), irrespective of such alien's status, may apply for asylum in accordance with this section or, where applicable, section 1225(b) of this title." It's process and deport if you don't immediately qualify, and then process and keep in custody (if the funds are there) or release while awaiting qualification trials. It's the same whether you cross illegally in the visual sense (not at a checkpoint), cross at a legal checkpoint wihtout a visa, or overstay your visa when you fly in. Once you say "asylum, please," then you're not illegal until a process is completed (quickly in many cases, and slowly in many others). Overall, without funding, this whole sytem cannot work as the line only grows, not shrinks. So yes, the system is broken. You, being from El Salvador, get a pass for not understanding US government. US Presidents cannot write immigration law. That's all. Congress has to fund or change the law. Or if El Salvador or Mexico or Costa Rica or any other country becomes the new land of opportunity, then the US will have less of a burden. But if that doesn't happen, people will always come here by land, sea, and air, and want to stay. Edit: and when you write, "they're not supposed to be coming in," I agree. They weren't supposed to cross through the many central american countries either, but they did. In addition to congressional action, the US needs international cooperation from other countries to help, because without agreement from those countries, nobody stops immigrants from moving through. Edit 2: if your answer is implying that the US needs a presidential monarchy that overrules congressional action to change the immigration system, sure, that is an extreme, but somewhat legitimate answer. If the USA tears up the Constitution and the President becomes lawmaker-in-chief, that is one way to potential improve the system. That is opening a can of worms though.
In many ways Biden and the liberal media created the Trump we know today, Trump knows his base very well... It just so happens that Trump's base also plays a role that is better for the country. Biden just doesn't seem to care, as long as he is pleasing the radical left and Trump continues to get called racist he is happy. I was honestly hoping Biden wouldn't be this bad, I wasn't expecting much I just wasn't expecting the disaster these people have been to this country.
I'm from Houston, I wasn't born in El Salvador.... This isn't about immigration law, not sure why you go down this route? This has nothing to do with immigration law, the way an immigrant is handled once across the border has nothing to with why that person made it across the border in the first place. Yes, a President/Governor can enforce and push border control. Its happened before, just a few years ago. This is the same argument democrats make on every single subject that just so happens to make this country worse than when Trump was in office. "Its not Biden's fault"... You really think this is random? You know damn well that if Trump is elected president two things happen, the border will immediately get the attention it needs and two.. People think twice about make the trip. I'm not against immigration, I've repeatedly said it. Immigration is good, whether illegal or legal. Losing control of the border is not good. Processing thousands of immigrants is not good. Immigration law has absolutely nothing to do with it. If it does, tell me how immigration law stops people from crossing the border? How does American immigration law discourage people pouring into this country.
Just to add Trump himself was bound by those laws also and was also dealing with large amounts of migrants coming to the border. What do you think those caravans he kept on talking about were. At the same time he couldn’t get funding for his wall passed even through a Republican Congress.
