Just vote. I am curious to see who has their CHL and if you carry a lot of the time. I just got certified today and as soon as my license comes in I will be packing heat everywhere I go.
I thought about getting one just so I could be legal when I took my handgun to the range. But then Texas changed enforcement to assume that you were carrying across county lines, so that need went away. I may get one someday, but I won't carry. I own guns because I like to shoot. I can't imagine shooting someone else.
As someone who wants to be a law enforcement officer and a carrier of a CHL......I don't know how comfortable I am with that fact. I guess if it comes down to "me or him" I can make that decision.
I turn 21 in a few weeks, gonna get my license and a nice HK USP compact .45 to go with it. Probably will never need to use it, but you never know what can happen, it's just knowing its there in case.
Where did you go to get your CHL? I am going to get mine soon. I am just to lazy to take this class and also dont want to spend an entire saturday or sunday doing that.
i'm sure the same holds true for houston, but up here there are classes offered on tue/thur nights for something like 4-5 hrs each day. it may be a bit easier to break it up in to 2 days.
I've had my CHL for about a year now. If I go out, I carry. Its just part of getting dressed. Expect about a 2-3 month wait to get your license. Take a look over here. http://www.texasshooting.com/TexasCHL_Forum/index.php
If you really can't figure it out from the context of the discussion, it is a concealed handgun license.

I'm moderately interested in having a CHL and owning/carrying a pistol. My wife doesn't like the idea - is a afraid the kids (or I) will kill ourselves with it. I'm not tremendously gung-ho about owing a gun, so I let her win this battle.
I just came back to this thread so I could watch that youtube clip again. p.s. WWR - good sense should have let you know that this is a D&D thread.
