Snoop is OK in small doses but his involvment in the Sugar Bowl is too much. Weird ads, long corny commercials and cheesy women have tainted the entire event. I think this type of ad campaign is the thing that turns people off to the hip hop generation.
Dude you took the words out of my mouth. The whole ad campaign had me so confused. I still don't understand what the hell was going on with the commercials. Terry Bowden? TCU mascot? Perp? Huh? And the music video? Blah! I am a huge fan of early Snoop, but this Nokia garbage was a huge turnoff.
I got to hand it to 'ole Snoop Dogg, this guy is all over the place these days - and to think this is a guy who was on trial for murder a decade ago. Snoop is the man! <i>-Turbo</i>
Snoop has always been overhyped. I swear, if I never hear anything with "izzle" added to it, I'll be a happy man.
Snoop is even doing AOL commercials. Jerry Stiller - You'll be using the new Snoop Dog cd to finish that picture. Snoop Dog walks in through the front door Now wait one minizzle What channel is he not on?
He was even in Newfoundland a week ago as part of his "Ho Ho Ho" Christmas tour! He's all over the place.
I don't know about always overhyped, he is regarded as one of the most prolific rappers ever, but the wrong type of exposure to mainstream America will effect that legacy.
I agree with what you said. I enjoy Snoop, but I have no idea what the purpose of these commercials are other than to get people to go to NokiaBling.com or some crap...What is the storyline all about?
go to your user control panel and type at your sig portion something like "open bracket, color=whatever, and then close bracket". Example: Fatty is my hero! You can also quote my post and see what my HTML code looks like.
Well, I try. AB - glad that you started this as I was wondering the same thing myself. It is like there is too much stuff going on for it to be just a commercial - it is like watching a 2 to 3 minute TV show.
If the 1993 version of Snoop Dogg ran into the 2003 version, he'd be unhappy, to say the least. Sellout. Just like Dre in those Coors Light commercials (bus going to the Next Level). Ugh.
