My friend turned 50 today and I'm trying to make him an ecard with a picture of the SNL character Sally O'Mally (Molly Shannon). The chick that says "I'm 50 years old and I like to KICK!!!!!"

The only pictures I find are from myspace profiles and they're blocked here at work. So can anyone find pic(s) that I can use and post them here?

I have been digging like hell for 2 videos of SNL stuff.

    1. Will Ferrell as John Rocker at the New Years Eve 1999 show.
    2. Mathew McConaughey's protest speech.

chance dot mcclain at gmail dot com if anyone has em.

BTW - long time no holla.

Another request: There was this sketch of a tv show which had a roundtable discussion on books. All the characters appeared as highly sophisticated, intelligent people. The whole joke was the names of the authors and the titles of the books, which had ridiculous names like Amanda Hugankiss (a man to hug and kiss, duh). But a lot more creative and funny. Will Ferrel was in this sketch, I don't remember who else.

A similar one was a roundtable of movie reviewers from podunk towns like Appleton, WI, or Peoria, IL, and they'd try to incorporate the name of the movie in their pan or rave about the movie. For example, "There's something about this movie that made me laugh" for There's Something About Mary (not part of the skit). They also loved really crappy movies. They finally got to Wild Wild West and everyone tried it, but couldn't come up with anything. Ben Affleck was hosting and he goes, "Why I'll'd, Why I'll'd ought to InWestigate why this picture was not nominated for Best Picture". Not sure why, but I was in tears. Whenever they show a rerun of this episode on E!, they cut that skit out.

    Another side note.

For Christmas I got the wife the new DVD box set "SNL the Complete 1st Season." It's an 8 DVD box set and one of the bonus features is the screen tests of all the first year people. She absolutely loves it! Highly recommended!

It's fun to watch because they really hadn't set the format and were really flying by the seat of their pants to find out what would work. For instance the third episode had Paul Simon as the musical guest and pretty much the entire 90 minutes is him playing music with maybe 3 sketches. Another really interesting thing is the guests really didn't do any of the skits for the first 5 or so episodes until Lily Tomlin hosted.

Wow, I had no idea this existed! I'm a big fan of the early SNL. I can't believe it's 8 dvd's though, even at 90 minutes that's a lot of dvd's (isn't it?). I wish they would release each season on dvd.

I've also read "Live From New York", which is basically personal accounts from most cast members of their experiences w/ the show. Pretty interesting stuff. But most people in the book agreed on one thing: Chevy Chase is an arrogant prick in real life.
