Is ESPN trying to jinx us? First we have Walton with his cult on Yao, and now they have a poll, asking which team will come out from the West, and the choices are: LA, Sacto, Dalls, and ... Hosuton. I thought our goal was to make the playoffs this year. What happened to San Antonio? The Rockets have not won a game against the Phoneix and the Clippers yet, and are only 0.500 in the West. It's too early...
I, for one, am not thinking playoffs. After watching Y.M. "grow" even more, I'm believing we can win it all THIS year.

We won't have to play them in the playoffs. We'll have to play LA, SA, Sactown, and Dallas and we've beaten 3 out of the 4 and truly believe we match up well against Dallas.
Quite true and Ming hasn't had his REMATCH vs. the Mavericks yet! So who knows what will happen once he has his rematch!
Funny how fast Bill Walton changes his tune. In the past, it seemed as though he had dedicated his second career (broadcasting) to eternally bashing the Rockets. Now he's jocking Yao, and giving the Rockets organization the credit they deserve. Unfortunately, he still feels the need to talk down when speaking about Cuttino Mobley. He's just another fair-weather fan. To hell with Walton, I say.

Well you all know that I am not surprised since I have a bet in place with Codell for that very eventuality. Plus with Posey added, I am even more confident that ESPN is right. Yo, when they are slow you complain and when they are fast you ask for them to slow down. In our 24 games we have handled all the elite teams, so with almost 60 games to go, we should just keep getting better.
But against the elite teams in the west (Kings, Mavs, Lakers, Spurs), we are 3-2! Need to revenge the Mavs and beat Lakers with Shaq! They don't look difficult at all right now.
I voted for us... but of course we do not have a chance... We beat the Kings when Predrag Stojakovic was like still injured and without Mike Bibby. They beat us in Sacramento with their backup players. They have a really good team but they can't put all their players on the court at once. Lakers - Without Shaq. Pacers - that was good. San Antonio - Yao dominated. But still.....we cannot beat the Los Angeles Clippers or Memphis Grizzlies!!!! That is not good. We will be NUMBER 5 in the West. 1. Dallas 2. Sacramento 3. San Antonio 4. Pheonix 5. Houston
Good point SLA, we should all stop putting unrealistic expectations on them and just enjoy the ride back up to the top! I believe we are still a year or two away because a) we are still very young and geling together as a team, and 2) playoff experience.,look at SAC last year they were the better team, but they didn't know how to close the Lakes out. I do believe we will be the 5 seed though, and might when a series, and that is fine for me this year Sincerely Yours Lowered Expectations
i also got a huge shock when i saw the rox mentioned on that poll. i bet those fools on sportscentre are a little embaressed now about the fun they were making of yao in his first few games... have they said they were wrong yet???
