Man, I really have a bad case of both. I am currently taking a summer course because of my slacking in a class last semester. Now, I find myself doing it again. I'm sitting here watching Adult Swim and surfing the BBS while kind of doing some of my HW. Just 4 more days of class left, a test tomorow, and final on Thursday and I'm going to be back in Saudi. My mother and little sister are flying into Houston from Saudi on tuesday, and my father on July 29th. I can't wait to see them, but I better get back to the books. Almost there...almost finished. This has been one of the worst months in a long time, pulling 6hours of work and 4 hours of class everyday. Thank goodness both are only for this month, on the 1st I am off to relax and make MMP my new home. Well...this was just a random babble...or rant...or both. I need to find a way to get rid of this HORRIBLE habit.
I start two gen ed courses tommorow, heard they werent very hard, but nonetheless i'm taking courses in the summer...
I've actually got a lot of work to do seeing if a project I'm working on meets accessibility requirements. Its about the most mindnumbing tedious work imaginable and I'm having a hardtime getting motivated doing it. The difference though is that I bill hourly, and my rate aint cheap, so there's some more incentive for me to get off my @ss.
Don't post anti-american crap like that, you keep on procrastinating and make the country proud. Be all the slacker that you can be.
ooh, thats so tough. 6 hours of work and 4 hours of class. poor uprising. where's triumph when you need him.
What is it about Sundays? Something aboutt Sundays, I never want to shower, never want to shave, always feel like eating crap food and reading Something Awful or snopes or Mock Drafts from 2001.
Chris Rock joked that America is a nation of B's and C's. Mediocrity rules! Don't spend 15 minutes every day chipping away your project piece by piece. Procrastinate and feel the rush!
I do the same thing all the time. I have even tried to start some projects early, and after 15 minutes couldn't force myself to stay seated and keep working. I did get one thing done early only because I thought it was due a week before it actually was. I admit I loved the feeling of being done and having to worry about it. I hope that is the motivation I need to not always wait until the last minute when there is another option.
Well excuuuuuuuuse me! What makes it "tough" is that all my friends are out doing something, since it is summer, and they keep calling me to head to the pool etc while I'm at work or at home doing 3hrs etc of HW. This is my first summer class, and this and the job are taking all my time during the work week. ....
I'm a bad procrastinator. I have so little to do this summer that it doesn't matter, but what's going to happen when the school year starts? Especially being that I'm burned out right now... I should take the time to do as much of the school year stuff as I can in advance. Right now. So I won't be experiencing so many sleep-deprived nights in the fall. But will I do that? Doubtful. Remind me to share my procrastinating tips with you, when I get around to it.
In defense of Uprising, 4 hours of class in the summer is not easy. You're not only sitting in class for a good number of hours each weekday, but there's a lot of studying, etc. that goes with it. Between that and working a good number of hours, it does sound like a lot.
And add that up that it's only 5 weeks long. I'm happy about it being so short, but DAMN. They really crammed this in, I don't know how they did it...or better yet....how I did it.
Necessity is as necessity does. In other words, there is no such thing as procrastination, it's just doing what needs to be done in the shortest amount of time possible, because goofing off is ten times more pleasurable when there's work to be done. Case in point: Senior year of college. Halo 2 comes out near finals. I stay up til 5 AM playing Halo and realize that in 12 hours I have two 3,000 word papers due. Not to mention a final 13 hours after those papers are due (8 AM). But I get it all done anyway. Because that is how I do.
True.... But I really shouldn't be on the BBS right now, I have a test in 2 hours, and quite a bit more work to do on my OWLS (online work).
