I just finished watching the NBA Film: Sir Charles. It was quite emotional. Barkley has been by far my favorite NBA star, and as a Rockets fan, I was able to see it close up. It was unfortunate that NBA Films wrapped up the film after the 92-93 season where he lost to MJ and the Bulls in the finals. A second film, titled Sir Charles 2, could offer the more mature, selfless side of Sir Charles. The second latter of his career was divided into several sections. 1) Barkley and the Sun's unable to get past the Houston Rockets, Charles expresses a desire to retire, after two consecutive heartbreaking playoff losses. 2) If you can't beat em', join em', Charles Barkley is traded to the Houston Rockets. Meeting up with Drexler and the Dream, the Big Three lose only to Stockton's coldblooded 3 pointer in Game 6 of the Western Conference Finals. 3) The 98-99 Season, where Barkley accepts the $1 Million minimum to play alongside Scottie Pippen, and later back-stabbed in the hated Pippen dispute. 4) Barkley takes on the mentor role to young super star Steve Francis. 5) His retirement comes, fittingly, where his career began in Philadelphia. His last game return in the last game of the season marks the closure of Barkley's excellent career. So what do you guys think? NBA needs to start making more films, the way NFL does. Personally, I feel each and every team has their own story, and with a little dynamic music in the background, there are hours of entertainment waiting to be told. ------------------
I love the idea but it will never happen. The NBA is too busy promoting the new stars of the day: Kobe, Shaq and Vince. Old School ------------------ I voted YES!
Dang! It's been so long since I've been to this site; I dont get online as much lately. But! Im so happy to see people still carrying on here in ClutchCity...and I'm also very happy to see that there is a film on Sir Charles. It's just not enough waiting for Wednesday and Thursday nites to catch his antics (or watch Space Jam, they only play it on TV like all the time! But I'm not complaining too much)~ I miss the guy! I guess it also doesnt help that I have a crush on him. How silly! So now that I've read this, I'll just have to check out the films. Thanks for the info! ------------------
In that case they'll probably make another rockets video 'cause they'll be tryin to promote steve franchise cause he is the star ------------------ "Wahooo"-homer I'm not only a fan but I'm also the bartender at clutchcity chat For the last time I'm not Tybrave!!!!!
