Hi Jeff, I just now caught this. I'm not the most sensitive soul really, but please accept all my best wishes. I hope y'all can keep the friendship... I've actually been there, and all i can say (assume it's been said already in 8 pages) is this: don't despair if the friendship has some down time off and on for a while. Sounds like you'll have no problems on this front, but it can be tough in surprising places. The bad thing, IMO, about marriage and society is the unnecessary stigma of divorce. As you can tell in this thread, you have good company. Take care and let yourself be sad occasionally.
Nah, how about "BobFinn's would you date an Indian Rapper Pornstar if Lindsay Lohan was single again"
Well guys, I'm off to court. I talked to her last night and we actually negotiated a little. She says that she will drop jurisdiction up in Illinois if I help her move back. NO FREAKING PROBLEM!!!! I'm not getting my hopes up until I hear that it has officially been dropped and that jurisdiction is in fact here in Texas. Wish me luck!!
wow, that sounds like good news. hopefully she's softening up. she will ultimately recognize how important it is for the children she loves to be near their father.
Well, he's cool like that, but not fresh like that or chill like that. So, maybe he's more like a Diggable Asteroid.
I felt I was taking a chance posting that, thinking it was an obscure reference, but I should have known that Jeff would know it!
i loved that song...wasn't too cool with the rest of the CD..but that song was great. good one-hit wonder.
Sounds like she made the decision based on emotion and now realizes that it is best for the kids to be in contact with their father...Good luck and give us an update... P.S. Jeff, MM and Manny, you guys made me laugh today...I almost fell off my chair...
Just got back from court and I have some excellent news to report. While she didnt drop her case in Illinois she did put it on hold so that we can mediate the case here in Texas. She was ordered to come down here and sit down with a mediator to work all of the issues out so that we can finalize and seal the deal. She was also ordered to let me talk to the kids on the phone and that I have visitation rights. My lawyer pleaded our case and thoroughly kicked their ass. The judge was none too pleased with her and her running off. The war isnt over yet but we have definitely scored a major victory. Chalk one up for the good guys!!
Excellent news. Nothing better than getting the judge on your side. Keep us posted, and I'll share anything about my turmoils and how they worked out. Just don't compromise on anything unless it is in writing.
good for you...I thought it would be that way, once the judge heard the arguments...I just got a so-called proposal to settle, and it was extremely laughable...The timing is interesting as we just went on a "date" this past weekend to talk...Makes me believe it was more of a set-up to cave-in and be flexible... Take it from me, don't let your emotions into it, just make decisions that are fair and equitable, and you'll be fine...You have to keep the kids in mind as well, but I suspect the majority of the things she wants is for her, not the kids...
Seeing Fatty and MB getting along reminds me of one of the most classic scenes in all of sitcom TV history. "An alliance then?" "Yes. An alliance!" Seriously, great news, MB - we are all rooting for you!
