Okay I have always wondered this..What the heck is the inside button on your slacks for. You know what im talking about, its the button on your waist line a little farther in that you can button up. Then farther down is the actual latch that u use to button your pants.

    The other question

How come on some slacks in the right hand pocket you have like two pockets. Like the pocket is seperated by a piece of faberic. I used to think it was an error, but i have several slacks like this

These two questions are like top 10 in my list of life questions. Someone has gotta know!!!

Regarding the first question, I always thought the extra button was in case the original button fell off and you had to replace it.

I don't know about second question though.

see i thought about that too, however you can actually use this button while your using the other latch to button up your pants. Plus its diffrent. One is a button and one is the two metal things you latch together.

The pocket is for your timepiece. All of us with a sense of class use them.
    Silly people.

Ahh ok, I understand. Maybe its if you lose weight and your waist gets smaller and you need tighter pants but you don't need enough tightening to take it to the tailors.

for the inside button that you can button up...i thought that was to spread out the tension from the other button. i could be wrong.

i mot quite sure what the inside pocket divider is either. my guess is for change?

I think the extra button is to keep your slacks from bunching in the front, so that they'll be smooth.

Actually, that little pocket is great for the modern equivalent -- my cellphone. If I put my cell in the big pocket, it falls over on its side and makes a bigger bulge (right, that's my cell phone!). In the little pocket, it stays still. The little pocket also will keep change from jingling as much and keep keys from pointing in all directions. I don't know the original intent, but the little interior pocket is a damn good invention and all of humanity is better for it.

The pocket inside the pocket is for loose change or small objects. It helps to keep appearance of your pants uniform on both sides and creates, "clean lines." Also it prevents some unsightly bulges. ;)

I agree totally. Without that pocket, change falls out everytime I sit down.
