i know this may sound dumb to some of you, but what about pursuing Dikembe Mutumbo? Is he totally committed to re-signing with the Sixers? I guess it depends on how well they perform in the playoffs. Does anyone else think he could help our team, especially in our most desperate areas, interior defense and rebounding? He could come in handy when we battle Shaq or the Spurs or any team that's bulkier than us (just about anyone) ------------------
Bingo, Enthusiasm is great, but, DUDE, you have all of seven posts and four of them are threads. Too many threads flood the board. Correction, five are threads! ------------------ I am an invisible man. [This message has been edited by kbm (edited April 30, 2001).]
If we were able to land Mutumbo, then I wouldn't mind resigning Mo if it were possible. Dikembe would pull down enough rebounds for the both of them. ------------------ Give me ambiguity or give me something else. I think it may be a good idea, but alot of it may depend on how much he enjoys playing with AI. Especially with the new zone D he may be even more effective.
Does any know the amount a contract for Dikembe Mutumbo would start at? I'm positive he will ask for the MAX. 1-Steve 2-Cat 3-Rookie 4-Dream 5-Mutumbo Not a bad line-up. ------------------ take it one day at a time
You beat me to it dude, so what if it's the wrong song... But a shot in the daaaaaaaaaaark One step awaaay from youuuuu A shot in the daaaaark Alwaaays creeeeeping up on youuuu, alright -Ozzy ------------------
I don't like Mutombo. I think if we do get him we won't have any cap space left. And the guy is 34 while some believe he's older, possibly 39. And his play has not been that great lately. ------------------
How about the rockets going after Theo Ratlif. The Hawks need sooooo much a package of cato and draft picks might do it. Mutumbo is a great player but he's getting up there in age. ------------------
Cato and Shandon (Atlanta boys) for Ratliff and, er, cap chaff. Atlanta needs a shooting guard with size to help free up Send Ratliff to Detroit, which needs a center and can move Ben Wallace to the 4 where he belongs. Send us Detroit's #9 pick (Bradley, Johnson). Detroit's lineup: Cleaves, Brickhouse, re-signed Williamson, Wallace, Ratliff. Worth it for them. For kicks, add Walt and Los; Detroit has a 3.9 million exception. Cap space and the #9 pick. Too good to be true? ------------------
call me knutts (no offense, Don ), but i'd take dikembe on the rockets over cwebb. thankaboutit: Cwebb & Cato or MoTay & "The Black Mantis"
i'm no Jovi-est but, i think you are thinkin' "shot to the HEART" ------------------ C-son --------------------- Dream on
Mutombo's going to be expensive. If we signed him, I doubt we'd be able to sign many others, particularly Mo. Mutombo's not worth the loss of flexibility. ------------------
I would prefer Ratliff to Webber. I'm from the belief that we don't need scorers at every position. Sure Ratliff can score and has a decent 15ftr, but it's what he brings to the table defensively that would benefit this team. If by some chance we were to get Ratliff at PF and swing a trade for LaFrentz at C, I'd be dancing in the streets. ------------------
