Sometimes I curse the 3 pointer. When both teams play close and the 3's start to fly, it's who is spot-on that night that wins.

    Frustrating

Yeah, but shooting is a big part of basketball game, right.
We had wide open treys too, we didnt make them enough. Pho has been doing this all season long, drive and kick to open man. They know they are quick but not big, so that's their style. Had we shot less treys and Mac shot less in the double team, the game could be a lot closer.

This is actually very true. Tracy has shot under 40% 13 times already this year out of the 30 games he has played. That's close to 43% of the games. If you count the barely 41%, it's 50% of the games.

Tracy does have a lot of bad shooting nights which can kill a team if he jacks up 30 shots as he is taking shots away from others and not converting.

I don't have a big problem with this if a lot of the missed shots come from the paint though as that means he most likely drawing fouls.

One thing I would love to see is how Tracy's shots related to Yao's playing time/foul trouble and Yao's effectiveness.

    its easy

we could have beaten them if we shot better, but if you want to check the math

...look at the free throws we missed (-1, -1, -1, etc for us)

...look at the 3 pointers they made (+1, +1, +1 for them)

We did NOT play their game, we pounded it inside the whole time (look at points in the paint) - and it almost worked (see the positive "we played great tonight" thread)

    Spot on all all accounts.

I also noticed that their weakness was going inside. Deke and Yao scored with relative ease when we went inside. They defender the perimeter very well making us shoot defficult long range shots most of the night.

The way they were knocking down the 3 reminded me of the sonics team that beat us at least 13 games in a row mostly by the long range shots of Nate Mcmillan, Hersey Hawkins, Sam Perkins and the glove in the mid/late 1990s. It will be inetersting to see how JVG adjusts for them come March 11.
