Codell, yes, for those who saw it on the news, that was my sister comforting Kayla.

Fatty and the other dads, I appreciate the protective nature behind what you said, but I really have to defend my sister on this. Granted, Abby has had problems with discipline and authority all her life. Her first run-in with the cops was at age 10 and she's had a record since she was 12 for bringing prescription pills to school without permission.

Considering that, she's matured and is actually quite responsible now - she gets good grades, she's involved in choir and soccer, and she does chores around the house When she does go out, she calls her parents and lets them know where she is, and she's almost always home on time.

And she doesn't hang out with gang bangers or gangster thugs or whatever you want to call it. She hangs out with a bunch of rednecks who love their country music and their rebel flags. Her best friends are a couple years older, and so they date guys who are even older than Abby. That doesn't make them bad horrible people just because Abby hangs out with them. Most of them are good people. Two of them just caught the end of a bullet because of a stupid argument.

You shouldn't have to explain. You didn't post this so jackasses could criticize your sister, you posted this because she lost a couple of friends and nearly lost her own life over something so meaningless. I never understand why people feel the need to share their opinions like that at inappropriate times. Your sister and her friends will be in my thoughts.

Off of West Rd between Jones and Beltway....probably not as far as you....I almost found a home in Wortham Estates (1960), but I couldnt see me driving that far (15 more minutes w no traffic) since I work in the Greenway plaza area and own a business in the Heights.

My parents live in Wortham Estates. Its a cool area. I like it better than my place in the Galleria area.

Yeah , there were some beautiful homes in there, but the wife found another closer in. No pool though, but we are planning to have one added in 2 years.

Cy Fair also produced Cody Risen, former player for the Cleveland Browns. We also had a guy who played for the Houston Hot Shots.

Creek has a leg up on us in the department. They produced Sam Adams, and Ike Nwanko, both of whom played on national title winners.

Cy Falls might have the last say though. Scott Kazmir is going to be in the majors soon. They had another guy that was drafted in the MLB draft too, but I forget his name.

EDIT: just looked it up and as it turns out, Risen was actually All-Pro one year in the 80s. Not bad.

Kazmir has made his major league debut and Clint Everts is the one you are thinking of...

codell... the other pitcher... everts.. senior the same year as me.. made sure to catch the cyfair vs cyfalls game that year..

oh well cyfair is all that matters.. we just let the other schools have some of the athletes...

When I was in high school.. I remember we had ken prigeons grandson on our team.. no matter if it is technically a road game or not. when you have the grandson of the man the football stadium was named after.. you're always the home team..

Good lord. And sometimes I worry that I'm over-protective with my kids. I'm glad things were different when I was growing up. I used to ride for miles on my bike, all over the place, and while the possibility was always there that some fists might fly because of one thing or another, that was the most you had to worry about. That, and being run over.

Sorry about what happened. I wish I could say it was unbelievable.

So do they still have the Bobcat seal over near the snack bar, roped off and if you step on it, a bunch of seniors will run over and pound you?
