Today it was almost my sister. She just turned 16, and thankfully, she'll live to see her next birthday, unlike several of her good friends. Thank God for that. She was hanging out with 2 female friends and the boyfriend of one of the friends and another boy. The boyfriend told her and her friends to leave because there might be trouble soon and that he didn't want the girls involved. Shortly after that, the boys were shot to death in a drive-by shooting. But here's what gets me - did this boy know that he was going to be involved in a shooting? Did he know he was going to die? Why didn't he tell the girls to call the cops for him? How horrible does my sister and her friends feel knowing that they were pretty much the last people to see these boys alive? And when the boys were laying in their own blood, were the girls the last thing they thought about? We all hear about shootings and gun violence among young adults and teens, and we've seen it in the movies, but I don't think I'll be able to watch things like that for a while. And I'm not the kind of person to ask for prayers and thoughts, but I know that my sister and the families of her friends are going to need them. Cy-Fair HS has lost enough of their kids in the past few years. When are people going to quit?
wow.. sorry to hear that.... were they cyfair high school students? If so I'll have to make sure none of my friends etc knew any of them.. probably not if they are still there now though..
opps read cy-fair but didn't see the HS on it.. that is horrible.. RIP... I graduted in 02 so I dont' know if I was there when any of them were or not
I don't know anybody else's last names, but my sister's name is Abby, her two female friends were Kayla and Ashley, Kayla's boyfriend was named Jeremy, and I don't know the names of anyone else involved. Abby's a junior, but I don't know about the rest of them - most of her friends were at least a year ahead of her.
I read about that today. Happened over on Loyola in Bonaire. Stuff like that just doesn't happen out here.
which means.. some of them were at least at cyfair when I was there so I'm sure some of younger friends at least know someone that knew them.. tough day.. and you are right about cyfair losing too many kids.. Prayers are with everyone back in Cypress involved..
Bonaire.. wow putting a neighorhood with it really makes it seem unreal.. never would expect it out here
If the boys knew some one was coming gunning for them and they stuck around they were crazy. Glad they warned your sister. Hope they find the killer(s).
Meggo, Was your sister on the news? THey were interviewing one of the victim's girlfriends and she had a friend there comforting her. BTW............get this ...........my best friend's sister lives right there on Loyola just a few houses down .....her husband was home when it happened. The found the shooter's truck over on Huffmeister at a bank. My best friend's mom works at that bank. Weird.
I don't know. It could have been her. I haven't talked to her yet about it. This is what my sister looks like: http://www.geocities.com/meatsnack_pikestaff/abs5.jpg
Well.. I at least know people... who knows people.. who know people that were victims and shooters... in a round about way I suppose.. not much of a connection.. but been on Bonnaire many a times so that is strange knowing it happened there.. also that Jasons deli on 1960 and Jones the manager was shot dead a few weeks ago at .. so been a few instances lately... Cy-Fair HS been on my mind lately.. this now.. but before that.. I woke up Tuesday and the first thing I saw on my tv was Mr. Belding on saved by the bell wearing his cyfair hs jacket
http://www.chron.com/cs/CDA/ssistory.mpl/metropolitan/2760074 2 fatally shot in dispute over sports gear By MIKE GLENN Copyright 2004 Houston Chronicle Two men were shot to death at a house in northwest Harris County, apparently over stolen sports apparel, detectives said. Jerimiah Samford, 20, was found dead about 3:30 p.m. inside the garage of his home in the 11400 block of Loyola. His friend, Jason Leslie, 23, was fatally shot on the driveway, Harris County sheriff's detectives said. The two were with several other friends when people in a dark-colored pickup pulled up and began arguing about stolen sports jerseys. The truck left and returned about 15 minutes later, detectives said. "A passenger exited the vehicle, ran up the driveway and began shooting," said sheriff's Sgt. Bruce Williams. Samford's girlfriend said he knew trouble was brewing over the sports apparel and warned her to stay away from the house. "He didn't want me involved or to get hurt," said Kayla McCartney. Harris County deputies searched the area and said they found a possible suspect and a vehicle matching the truck's description. They were fighting over sports gear?
I had a few friends that grew up in Bonaire while we went to Cy-Fair. Kind of seems more real when it's closer to home.
Not to sound like a Dad, here, but what the hell were your sister and her friends doing with this crowd? Your sister needs some discipline, and fast, or she could be involved in something this horrific. BTW, your sister is in High School, and she's hanging out with a 20 and a 23 yr old pair of gang-bangers. Nuff said, right there.
Violence is getting worse on the NW side of Houston. My wife works with a lady that had her brother and her brother's girlfriend attacked at Willowbrook mall. Willowbrook area is getting more and more crime around it. Be wary in parking lots, especially in the evening and at night. These were two people together...normally people alone are attacked. Their comments were that if they had been watching out, they probably could have walked back into the store and called police, but they walked right into the attack.
I've never understood why people just don't get up and walkaway from these situations. ****. I'd move to another state if I knew someone wanted to kill me. Even if I had no money. I'm walkin.
My fiance told me about a story just like that. I think she got the email from someone named Rachel. Is this the same story? or has this happened numerous times?
