I like that movie theater but can also understand the need for redevelopement. Things change...it wasn't always a movie theater either.

Why, there are plenty of theatres. The Bookstop is the best bookstore in the city, they have everything.

I guess it is what you are used to.

Interestingly, the Bookstop is either owned by Borders or Barnes and Noble. I can't remember.

I like bookstores, including B& N and Borders, but I would hate to see the River Oaks Theater taken down. It is definitely a historic landmark in Houston and will only get more so in the next years if they can keep it alive.

I would like to see a big bookstore in the actual downtown, like you see in many cities, as I think it would make it a lot easier to spend a whole night downtown. You need more than just restaurants, theater and sports.

Did anyone else ever frequent this odd, unmarked bar in that shopping center called Marfrellas, or something like that?

It was... interesting. Especially if you're, say, a 60-something executive needing a place to take your 20-something affair.

A bunch of thought that was a funny back-drop to hang out and drink. Spent a New Year's Eve there.

Was that a video of the movie theatre or the surrounding shopping center getting torn down? Or was it both?

Dude, if you haven't made out upstairs at Marfrela's at least once, you aren't a real Houstonian. :D

Went to Marfrellas. Boy was that place.... different.

It was... it was a .... I guess a "makeout place" for lack of a better term. Dark and quiet.... couches.... shadows... just weird, but not in a bad way. IT seemed really sleazy, but ...... I guess it was just freaky naughty.
