is the Human Robert Horry. Sleeping all regular season only to come out and play in the postseason. He's not perfect by any means, but smart guy (smart enough to know what kind of crap he can get away with) and talented. He's the perfect backup C for a team that can afford to have him **** around in the regular season.

I recall the Rockets were targeting him for the MLE before hearing about the bad news on Yao's foot. Had Yao stayed healthy, the plan probably would have been to retain Artest and add Wallace. Not that it was going to happen (Artest could have still walked and no guarantee Wallace wouldn't have chosen Boston anyway), but it really would have been an interesting team to watch.

Lol Artest and Sheed on the same team, ironic eh? Anyways I'm excited to see the Sheed vs. Artest antics that will occur in the finals

Artest is nowhere as bad as Rasheed Wallace antics.

Artest is funny, Sheed is annoying.

Sheed's a chucker. You know exactly what he's out there to do the moment he checks into the game. Seeing him on the Celtics reminds me of how Cassell used to be towards the end of his career in a similar role.

Yao would never see the ball. Artest and Wallace will Jack up threes once they pass half court. And then whine to the referees.

I wouldn't compare them because this is the first year Sheed was a fat tub of lard who didn't care at all during the season who then came alive in the playoffs. Horry did that for several seasons (I exaggerate some). I don't know if Sheed can repeat the process after this year.

As far as being the perfect backup C, shooting 41%/28% during the season doesn't cut it. Rasheed was pathetic. If the Celts weren't on the hook for $18 million, he might have been a goner during the season.

Artest and Sheed will be banned for an entire season, just like what happened to agent 0

Horry did drift through games during the regular season, but at least he never had Sheed-like man-boobs.

Are you 100% serious on this thread? I can't seem to tell

Anyway I don't think they are comparable at all. Robert Horry always came through in the clutch, and although he did basically idle during the season his 3's were definitely difference makers and resulted in wins for his team.

The term "coming alive" for Sheed is just relative to his pathetic performance during the season. I don't really see any reason to sign him, his stats are still pathetic in the playoffs. All he still does is wait in the 3 pt line and shoot 3's, and then he's really passive in D. Maybe for the min. he might be worth it as a 3rd string big man, however for the full mid-level I'd say no thanks.
