Yeah he has his millions to comfort him. But it doesnt really matter, you can see it in his face during the games, the fans laugh at him and he knows it. Everytime he catches the ball in a game the crowd yells "NOOO!!" I dont care how much money he is making, his teammates stay away from him and he has absolutley no fans. He knows he is worthless and I feel for the guy.

Yeah he has 35 million reasons to not care about what others think, and im not trying to sound all Dr. Phil or any crap like that, but you can tell all of the putdowns get to the guy. It truley is sad. All this doesnt really matter, im just trying to get the point across that even entertaining the idea of Shawn Bradley as a backup center is a joke.

I think Dikembe Mutombo would be a nice backup C to have right now.

He can't really play major minutes, and he's in the final year of his contract. For 15-20 minutes a night, he'd be an excellent backup to Yao, and if (God forbid) anything happens to Yao, he is actually capable of playing 30 GOOD minutes at C.

I'm dreaming we could get Mutombo and Kurt Thomas in the same deal, while sending them a PF.

Maybe we can send Howard to the Cavs for Battie? Then in the same trade, send Battie and the TE to the Knicks for Kurt Thomas and Dikembe Mutombo? That way they can use the TE in the Crawford deal to avoid complications.

If that doesn't work, push for a Harrington/Mutombo in exchange for a PF.

We need to get rid of one of the PF's contract, get a backup C, and add some shotblocking. Since we've heard that MoT has been working out relentlessly, I don't want to trade him away. With players' values now driven up, if MoT improves significantly from last season, he's well worth his contract. He was a sixth man of the year candidate. If he comes to camp less fat, more lean muscle, in supreme shape, I think he could very well be worth his contract. MoT has never been in shape his entire career. Something like that may open our eyes, and may be the door to him giving us a 15pts/6reb season. Becoming the third scorer, excellent from midrange with the size to bang inside.

As for Bradley, maybe as a final option. He's not a BAD option, but I thikn we have better options right now.

My God, it's worse than that. I've actually gone to the games and WATCHED him play (or try to play). if you think he's bad on TV, he's a THOUSAND times worse in person. He's LESS than awful - this is a guy who is tall, period. He has absolutely NO basketball instincts whatsoever. He's arkward, clumsy AND slow. You could put a potted plant in there and nobody would notice the difference. The only reason he's still in the league is because that arrogant dumbass Mark Cuban GAVE him $35 million to watch NBA games from the bench. That's a major reason why Cuban is now on the defensive for not wanting to pay Nash.

To even ENTERTAIN the thought of getting him for the backup center spot reeks of desperation and dharocks should not be THAT desperate yet.

you know (sorry a-train)... if jeff hornacek had half the game that he had when he retired, i wouldn't be opposed to it... but then again I did vote "no" on the "do you really think you know better" thread.

i don't understand the ostertag thing simply because he was always in sloan's doghouse. as far as making demands from your players of what's expected from them i'd consider van gundy a sloan-lite. why would vg put up with ostertag's crap? i just see him benching him and putting in c'dub.

His peak was his first year in Dallas. He averaged 14.6 points, 8.7 rebounds, and 2.6 blocked shots in 32 minutes a game.

If those were his career averages, I think most people would have thought he was worth a number two pick, but they're not his averages, and he'll go down as one of the great bust.

He doesn't even have injuries as an excuse.

That's messed up. How could you blame some players for being a jerk back to the fans?. Famous people have feelings too.

Bradley's defense on Yao is why Barkley had to kiss Kenny Smith's donkey. After that game, he played Yao better.

No, that was Samaki Walker :D

Anyway, I still think that, despite how clumsy and akward his playing looks, Bradley can produce, albeit modestly.

The longer a contract the less it counts to the salary cap as the years go on.

I went to a Mavs game last year in Dallas when they played the Rockets. Club seats woohoo! Anyhow, even though I do concur that Shawn Bradley is a bad basketball player, he wasn't doing to terribly that night. Dare I say he was an actual asset on the floor? Anyhow the Rockets lost and the game sucked in the 3rd because the refs were blowing hard. But back to the Bradley point: I too noticed how bad he gets it from the Dallas fans and I was laughing because it was like "damn, you really hate this guy so bad?" You could here the collective moans when Bradley would be in the game. They treat him like a r****d, so I kind of feel bad for him too.

I'm for him as a Rocket just for the freakshow value of having the super twin towers out there.
