Sharks retired Yao's number

    Yao ming's #15 jersey got retired before a CBA game at the Shark stadium last week I heard. If Yao remains a rocket for the rest of his NBA career he certainly has a chance to do the same here.

    I thought he would play for them in the off season?

    I think the CBA is like an NBA equivalent. Yao will go back and play for his national team, not his old basketball league.

    Yep, the DBA and the NBA are both FIBA leagues and the CBA no longer has any claim to Yao's services.

    I meant CBA, not DBA, for some reason the bbs won't let me edit my post, even though it says I'm logged in as me.

    You are right. Yao is still contracted to serve the Chinese B Team, but not the Shanghai Sharks anymore.
