    Personally... It's tough, right now I wouldn't, if he thanks the Lakers one day or shows some appreciation, I would think about it.

    yes you would he brought them 3 championships I know if Hakeem did this sort of thing to us after the 2 championship I would still retire his jersey

    If he decides to go into the HOF as a Laker I would do it... Tough decision right now because I'm pretty sure he's going to bad mouth the Lakers every chance he gets.

    Doesn't he badmouth Buss more than LA? Does he really have a problem with LA?

    no doubt about it. even if his relationship went from very good to very bad, i still think the lakers owe him to retire his number. he did lead them to 3 championships. they were the powerhouse for 3 years. no one in the league back then can stop him. even now, he is still a handful to stop ( and he's rusting with age and he's passing his prime ). no one can replace shaq hands down. i really think the lakers owe it to respect the #34.

    He played there 8 seasons, won 1 MVP, 3 Finals MVPs, won 3 titles, and reached the Finals 4 times. You retire the man's jersey.

    Why is this even a question? I dont like the guy, but he deserves his number to be raised.

    i think this is a no-brainer. absolutely. the key piece in 3 championships gets his number retired.
