Early 00's Diesel was SAVAGE. Top-5 center of all-time, hands down. One of the funniest dudes in the league, as well.

No emotions actually, no hate, no sympathy. He's just late, he should do it last offseason when his 20M contract finally expired

easily the most dominant offensive force this league has ever seen.

not as skilled mind you... but unstoppable in the post.

He was the best player in the modern era, and it's not really close. People forget because he looked like crap the last few years, but over his first 10-12 years, he was unguardable.

Hopefully now he can concentrate on his movie career and make more gems like Kazzam and Blue Chips.

    Good for him.

I wonder if Tout will be a big deal.

What do you mean by "modern era"?

I think people generally use that term to mean going back to the early-1980s, in which case, there was that Jordan guy who was a little better (not to mention Hakeem).

If you mean of the post-Jordan era, then I agree. Shaq is #2, followed by Duncan at #2, and probably Kobe at #3.

I don't consider Hakeem to be better than Shaq. I think he was a much more skilled player (one of the most skilled ever), but I've never seen a player demand more attention from the defense as Shaq did.

Similarly, while I'm sure it's blasphemy to say this, but I'd take prime Shaq over prime Jordan any day of the week (I'd also take Wilt & Kareem over Jordan). It's just too hard for a great perimeter player to impact the game as much as a great bigman.

morey should sign shaq for the minimum; he'll be an upgrade at the C position whenever he can play. maybe he'll play when yao's hurt; and yao'll play when shaq's hurt.
