Was a horrible foul and a cheap shot by Shaq. He has to get at least a few games suspension for this. Looked Nasty. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OXuolMTzuz0
No way was he going for the ball. You dont run at an opponent and lunge at them with 2 hands if your going for the ball. He may not have meant to foul Stucky that hard, but he was definatly intending to foul him IMO
imo, I think he meant to foul him hard to avoid the dunk or layup but not to hurt him. I think this is just a case of Shaq just being too big and strong. The announcers said that shaq didn't jump but he did.
Damn, I thought Stuckey hurt his neck! There was no reason for Shaq to go that hard, especially when they were up by that much. So whether or not Shaq meant it, that was a bad cheap foul.
If Stuckey did the same thing to Shaq, it wouldn't have even been called a flagrant foul. It's funny how that works. Flagrant-2 is sufficient. The NBA doesn't want to suspend another Sun after this past week.
He went for his arms, the dude was extended in the air. You don't go that hard into him unless you are trying to cause a hard foul. Suspend his ass, I want to hear the Suns fans cry more about how Stern is against them.
He's got to be suspended. Shaq knows his own strength and that was completely unnecessary. Stupid. I hope the Suns get blown out each game he misses.
I don't think a suspension is warranted if you go for the arms like that. It was excessive force and worthy of a flagrant-2. Unless there was clearly malicious intent, serious injury to the player, or a blatant blow to the face or body (maybe undercutting the legs as well), I see no reason for suspension.
I don't have a problem with the foul, but it looks like shaq kinda gave a lil extra motion trying to be stuckey down. He got him and then pushed him further to the ground.
Shaq tried to prevent a dunk/layup, but used a bit too much force. A hard foul turned into a flagrant one (borderline suspension material)
Shaq has complained over the years that he gets fragrant fouled all the time but he doesn't get the call because of his size. I have to say he has a point that there is a double standard. Like Wilt Chamberlain's coach said: "Nobody loves Goliath."
There was definatly intent. You can't tell me he didnt intend to foul Stucky hard. He intended to put him on his back. THe fall was nasty, and Stucky could have easily been seriously injured. Are you telling me that if Stucky falls and breaks a bone or is concussed or whatever, then Shaq deserves a punishment? But because Stucky is fine, Shaq is free to play? That doesn't make much sense to me.. It's irrellevant if he was injured or not.
