Rank them, either by peak value, career, legacy, and most importantly who would you build your team around.
Actually I made this thread to get some insight on my true question, Shaq or Duncan. But I put these guys in there for comedic purposes. Obvious Hakeems going to be number 1 and Ewing well I love hearing people bash him. Poor guy,
Ewing (because he has so many great rocksteady records) Hakeem Duncan Shaq hmmm Hakeem Duncan/Shaq Ewing
Peak value: Hakeem Shaq Duncan Ewing Career: Shaq Duncan Hakeem Ewing Legacy: Shaq Duncan Hakeem Ewing Build a team: Shaq Hakeem Duncan Ewing
In terms of easiest to build around/career value/longevity/legacy, I would rank them as follows: 1) Shaq 2) Dream 3) Duncan 4) Ewing And I know it's blasphemy around here to give Ewing his due, but he's one of the more underrated former players by the fans. He wasn't as skilled or breath-taking as Dream was, but he was still damn effective and a tenacious competitor on both ends of the court. At his peak, he was better than any center the league has to offer today. That was a guy I would feel comfortable going to war with. Dream's Rockets barely edged him out, so stop disrespecting the man. He's an all-time great and ranks pretty high on that list.
Peak value: Shaq Duncan Hakeem Robinson Ewing Career: Shaq Duncan Hakeem Robinson Ewing Legacy: Shaq Hakeem Duncan Robinson Ewing Build a team: Shaq Duncan Hakeem Robinson Ewing I think Robinson should be in this.
i lived in nyc during most of ewing and moved to h-town during the latter of olajuwon so it's just from my experience.
peak value Hakeem Shaq Duncan career Shaq Hakeem Duncan legacy Shaq Hakeem Duncan build your team around Hakeem Duncan Shaq (drops because his lack of work ethic could hurt some players) There's no reason to include Ewing in this survey. He's not close to the rest of these players level.
