Not really a super tall building geek or anything, but came across this link, and it is a pretty cool look into building what will be the 2nd tallest building in the world for a short while. http://du.gensler.com/vol5/shanghai-tower/#/
Beautiful Building - looks pretty awesome. I know I'm overreacting, but when I see these phrases in the building design..it doesn't really make me want to stay or work in that building: "fabricators produced curtain-wall panels" "The Result is a lighter structure that saved $58million in costly materials" "speedier, less costly construction process"
I can see why a tall building would be necessary in Shanghai. But when Dubai and the other Middle Eastern cities do something like this its just stupid.
Gensler is the architect and I don't think they'll tarnish their name by building a pos. Now wether the Chinese building codes are as good as American ones, Im not too sure.
