I see a lot of movies. I don't normally rave about movies like they are the greatest thing in the world. The last one I can remember was Pirates of the Carribean, and before that the 2nd Matrix installation. But I must say to you all, go out and see Second Hand Lions. It is one of those movies that won't let you down. It's a little something for everyone. I think if I had to use one word (or maybe phrase) to describe the movie, I would call it heartwarming. It is a heartwarming film in every sense of the word. You leave the theater smiling. I'm a huge Robert Duvall fan, and he doesn't disappoint in this movie. Michael Caine is great as well and Haley Joel Osment didn't squint his face up so much that I hated him, so I was cool with his performance as well. Anyone else see it? What was your reaction?
Havent seen it yet but interestingly enough my dad is great friends with the director and writer Tim McClanlis(sp) I've known the guy my whole life too he's sorta a goof but he writes well. Ps: He also wrote Iron Giant, and wrote and directed Dancer Texas Pop. 81
Yeah, I noticed that the director was from Texas. Graduated SMU, as I recall (Rimbaud's all time favorite university). I hope the movie does well in the theater, because I think it is one of Duvall's better performances. But judging by the overall interest in this thread, I suppose it probably won't garner much attention.
I had not heard of it until I saw a commercial for it tonight...I think I might check it out this weekend... Duvall is one of my favorite actors.
I think that the Return of the King trailer will be attached to it after Sept. 26th, so you may want to wait until then.
I can't believe I saw this movie, but I thought it was great. That sixth sense kid is a really good actor. And, well, Michael Caine and Robrt Duvall were at their best. Very, very good movie.
