No doubt the story will evolve was the media gets away from horse race reporting and down to content and substance.
What don't you understand about the fact that if you buy in one of 32 states that allow it, you can buy a gun online in that state without a background check, have shipped directly to you.
Whether Trump won or lost is immaterial. He needed a dominant performance, and simply didn't do enough to stop the bleeding.
Really Major? I am not defending anything. I am stating the law. Its very very cut and dry. You can not legally go online and buy an out of state gun without a background check. I personally believe the seller is liable if a background check is not ran, regardless of means or mode.
You may be right, but I don't think we actually know. I do not think we have seen a real campaign by Hillary since she won the nomination because they have been trying to play a "rope-a-dope", run out the clock campaign since the conventions. If she was facing Cruz or Rubio, I think there would have been a real campaign and maybe she would have done better. She still may have lost, but she would have looked a whole lot better than she has this year. I still have feeling the challenger for Clinton in 4 years would be Nikki Haley if the Republicans can hold the party together. They would probably win that one easily.
Hillary is running out the clock at this point and trump keeps getting holding calls and personal fouls.
Yes, really. When people talk about a loophole, they mean there is a way for people to get around the purpose of the law. So I'm asking, fairly simply, what do you believe the purpose of the law is? Until you answer that, no one can really have a discussion with you about whether there is a loophole in it.
Trump did well enough that he isn't even going to consider quitting now. That's probably good for Clinton. Lose the battle, win the war I guess.
I thought Trump had some strong hits. I am surprised that Clinton was weak in her refuting him. On vetting immigrants - why not mention the two year process we already have? Why not talk about Sid Blumenthal - or that during Benghazi that it wasn't 3am when Benghazi was attacked where Clinton was sleeping, it was more like 3pm. Or that insurance premiums and deductibles were increasing before Obamacare - not because of it. Obamacare just failed to stop it.
Because your fact is wrong. 18 of the states require background checks on all firearms shipped, regardless of location. UPS and FedEx prohibit all private to private shipments...they must be shipped to an FFL. In the 32 states you mention, you are legally allowed to ship private to private AS LONG AS IT STAYS IN-STATE. You can not ship private to private between those 32 states w/out sending it to an FFL, which in turn will run a background check. So again, federal law does not require back ground checks on private-to-private intrastate transfers. ALL interstate transfers require a background check, even if its between the 32 you mentioned. Again, FEDERAL LAW. States can enforce stricter laws, such as the 18 you mentioned.
You're not reading a word I wrote. Federal law allows for private-to-private intrastate (with-in state) transfers w/out a background check. There are no caveats to this. How difficult is this to understand? Show me a federal law that states this isn't true. It doesn't matter if its a gun show, in person, online, ESP or any other example you can conjure up. Federal law differentiates between inter-state or intra-state transfers. It differentiates between private sales and dealers. Thats all it covers as a minimum.
