I really think the guy can play, but we just don't have any room......

Not at this stage - because he can't do anything well enough.
He's not a great shooter, not a great defender, doesn't take care of the ball well enough and isn't a good enough passer.

IF we sent him to DLeague for the entire year and gave him some things to work on, then perhaps. But the only way that happens is if he claims one of the 15 roster spots.

Unfortunately for him we have enough guys who can play the PG spot - and Aaron Brooks is like Singletary on steroids.

I just can't see him sticking.

But his 450k partially guaranteed contract might be useful for one of Morey's "minor" moves...

He's better than Aaron Brooks, and a little bigger... I've been saying this since the trade... take him to camp to push brooks...

He is very similar to AB, but remember AB tore up Summer League his first year................
I think he has a more versatile handle and some great moves attacking the basket, assets that we could use off our bench(Steve?)

Hmmmmmm...dont know much about Singletary, but it will very interesting to see if what you are saying here is true or not. Right now, I find it hard to believe that he is better than Brooks, although I am not calling you a lie....just want to see the proof.

sing;etary was a beast at virignia. i remember hoping we would take him. and dude is a good finisher, penerator. I'd like to keep him adn make him a project.

imean hell, we've had worst projects witha lot less potential.

this guy was a possible first rounder.

Aaron Brooks Senior year in college:
    17.7 ppg
    4.3 apg
    4.3 rbg
    1.4 spg
    .404% from three
    2.5 turnovers

    Sean Singletary senior year:
    19.8 ppg
    6.1 apg
    3.8 rpg
    1.8 spg
    .367% for three
    3.9 turnovers

They are very similar players... Singletary doesnt miss from three when left open and has an inch and some pounds on Brooks. He also played in arguably a much tougher conference (ACC) in college and still put up better numbers in some stats. His turnovers are slightly high, and he likes to have the ball in his hands sometimes... But hes was a 4 year player at Virginia who has had lots of success the past few years...

I really think he will be a contributing member to someones team this year or next... if it isnt ours.

Maybe Stevie Franchise can take him under his wing and teach him how to REALLY dominate the ball at the NBA level...

As a UVA student/basketball fan I really hope he makes the team - he's a got a huge heart. Realistically though I don't think we need him. I hope he proves me wrong though..

I was there when he just killed us (Arizona). I think I was the only person in there rooting for him. He is really talented but i'm not sure if he's a fit for this team.

Weaknesses: Singletary's biggest drawback is his lack of size. At under 6 feet, there's some question how effective he can be against NBA level PGs. He's listed at 6' but is likely closer to 5'11 ... He needs to become more consistent with his decision making. Must cut down on razzle dazzle turnovers and improve upon his (1.16) A/TO ratio (quality of teammates brings his numbers down some)... Lack of size could hurt him some defensively ... Finished the season in a shooting slump 18-58 (31%) in Virginia's final 4 games. ... His aggresiveness and toughness going inside can be a detriment as he frequently gets knocked to the floor. He underwent hip surgury in the off-season ...

Just watching some highlightes, he seems to be more intense than Brooks. I love Brooks but he seems to play with a certain lack of fire.

I'd like to see Sean in camp, I still think Brooks has the better upside but he should have to earn his spot.

If he was better than Arron brooks he wouldn't be trade fodder.

^ he had a better college career in a tougher conference than Brooks and has 25 pounds on brooks. Brooks is listed at 6'0 160... Singletary is 6'1 185...(listed at)...

I'm not saying he should make the team... I just dont see why we wouldnt give him a chance in training camp at least..

I like what they say in the scouting reporting saying he is a very good passer and playmaker, Someday he'll start for the Houston Rockets.

If he loves to dominate the ball so much maybe we should show him Stevie's career after the trade or Ron Ron and Dorsey can give him a beating until he learns to pass a lot more.
