It looks like T-Mac will be out for a while so the Rockets really don't have a true small forward no more. Like for example at tonight's game versus Denver, David Wesley was guarding Carmelo who has like 9 inches on him. Bowen is too slow to play the 3. Jon Barry looks injured and he is clearly in the last season of his career. I love JB but even before his injury, he looked horrible other than opening night. The New Orleans Hornets recently cut undrafted rookie Sean Banks of Memphis because they didn't want to guarantee his contract for the rest of the season. Sean Banks is a true 6"8 small forward with a lot of skills. He would have been a lottery pick but had some major off the field problems so he was kicked off the team. The dude has great skills, can shoot, is athletic, and play some solid D. After T-Mac misses 2 games, I think we could have a 16th spot and should give Banks a 10 day contract. He made some mistakes but everybody deserves a second chance. Trust me, he has some skills. Knowing JVG, he likely will sign some old, slow veteran like Darvin Ham or George Lynch.

Just like the Rockets did with John Lucas III... and then promptly resigned him to a fresh 10 day contract. I wouldn't be surprised if the Hornets do the same for Sean Banks.
