Announced on 610...no details. So there is the final active slot.

Is this the same Scott Padgett from Utah / Kentucky that drills three pointers all over the court. Good pick up at the 3. gets my thumbs up.

    6'9", 240lbs from Kentucky

5 points, 3 rebounds and 42% FG shooting in 4 years with Utah'

Also, a career 38% three point shooter from the four including 42 percent in 2001-02.

Looks like he was signed with Portland during training camp but was released because his stats are only from Utah.

Eh. We needed a token big white guy, I guess. He's got shooting range and can bang a little.

The question is whether he is expected to contribute in the rotation or is just there in case MoT gets / stays hurt.

If he is to be a real rotation player, eh. If he is insurance, good pick up.

By the latter definition I might have preferred Cher-oh!-kee.
But if the former, I wish the Rocks might have dug into the TE $ (based on EG being long-term suspended) and helped a team with their cap load.

The guy can shoot... that's important for our inside-outside game. I would much rather have Padgett who can drill them with regularity than have Eggie throwing up bricks.

it's no big deal really whether we like him or not, he won't get off the end of the bench except to maybe hand Yao a towel or something

Guy hustles, plays hard, and plays smart. All good things you would like to see in a role player. Plus he probably was OK with signing a contract that probably didn't guarantee he would be here the entire season...

I like Cherokee too but, at best, he'd give us the same thing as Cato, Amechi, and Braggs.

Padgett, while not as strong, gives us the outside shooting.

Flexibity in the line-up is what Jeff is going for, I guess.

The beauty of Padgett is that he has some range for a big guy.

Are you seriuos? Scott Padget? What a waste. I'd rather have Gabe. Hopefully, it's just for a short term contract.

I can't believe he had 10 offensive rebounds in one game.

    Chilcutt and Bullard are soft.
Padgett is a much tougher player who can also shoot.

I think there is a good reason why Gabe (although given a good chance to make the team) didn't and why Padgett who's been playing with some other team made ours.

I'll let you think of a reason why... cause I think its pretty obvious who JVG thought could play in this league.
