First of all, I am just AMAZED by how great Scola has been in this series. He is doing everything, he is carying this team and what is most important he is CONSISTENT.

He gives you 15/10 every night shooting 50% or even more. He is so active. He has great post moves and as DD said, you wanna see McHale's moves? Just put Luis on the block. He is so creative.

He has become a VERY good player on the block and he rarely misses those 15-18 ft jumpers. His only weakness are free throws. He is shooting below 70%.

I am confused. Usually in the first quarter Scola is our best players taking around 6-7 shots and scoring some points. But as the games goes on he dissapears. Maybe it is his fault too, but Rick has to play through him all the time. Why? Because he gets the job DONE.

All that means I just want More Scola throughout the next 3 quarters. Why to stop giving him the ball whenhe is making shots?

    MORE SCOLA !

Scola looks great in the post after he stops dribbling the ball. That high dribble of his scares the hell out of me.

As someone said before, Rox guards tend to use the "you got yours now it´s my turn" filosophy.

There is no other explanation for a player being fed very well, and with little to no adjustment by the opponent end the game without receiving the ball in the final minutes.

Last game he shot only 2 very contested shoots during the fourth, and he scored both.

Scola looked like the only one who really wanted to close out the series on Tuesday

That is what I am saying. This guy averages about 17 ppg in this series, right. Let's see, he is taking 13 shots a game shooting 59 %. It is unbelivable, isn't it.

Give him 20 shots a night, even if he shots 50% I would still take it.

He gets so many good looks because all of the attention to Yao. When double from the baseline they leave Scola wide open to take the mid-range.

I didn´t mean all of that, i just want the team to continue feeding him until portland adjusts, if portland adjusts i don´t care on other player shooting if he is the one being open. But going away from your best shooter and scorer of the series, just for the sake of winding the clock down is useless.

I prefer to keep scoring in 7 seconds than missing using the full clock.

Yes, Yao is great, we are talking about a very different subject, feed scola on the post or whatever he is, because he is not scoring only open looks.
Aldrige can´t guard him one on one so far.

Exactly. It is not like Scola is ONLY hitting those open jumpers when they double Yao. He is also getting it done on the offensive boards and on the block, 1 on 1 against Aldridge.

Because right now Scola is pretty much owning LaMarcus.

Exactly. Its extremely frustrating to see the Rockets not giving Scola and shots in the second half. They put so much effort in getting Yao the ball that they forget about Scola. When Yao is being fronted most of the shot clock is wasted in trying to get him the ball, which usually ends up being a turnover by Yao or a bad shot by brooks. How about we give someone else an opportunity to score? Like the OP stated, Scola is so damn effective in the first quarter, but then the Rockets get away from him just so that Yao can get his.

Um ... we are at our best when Yao is involved. Getting Yao more involved in the 2nd and 3rd quarter of game 5 was a big reason why they had that 4 pt lead in the fourth. Scola will get his like he has when Yao is on the bench, playing off the defense on Yao, or through pick and roll. But when Yao is being played 1 on 1, the ball needs to go to him because it opens things up for everyone. Don't blame Yao for going away from Scola in the last game, blame the guards who got impatient and didn't let the play develop.

Love the up and under pivot moves that Scola uses to free himself for layups. The big difference between this year and last year is that he's finishing around the basket now at a much higher clip. He blew tons of open layups that went in and out last year.

If Yao cant get the ball consistently, why not try more AB scola PnR, since AB cant pass the ball to our big fella, that will make our offense smoothier

Going to Yao or not, doesn´t care, if they try to go to Yao in a play that demands a different move, is still the guards mistake, they are the ones that (mainly) run the team.
When Portland adjusted the defense on Yao again in the fourth, the guards kept trying to go to yao and failed, and instead of trying t go back to the first quarter strategy (Scola) they tried to save the game by themselves and failed horribly.

i think scola on the block should be our 2nd and 3rd option. hes so efficient when he posts up, probably more efficient than yao.
