i'll go with golden state, home game for the rocks. btw guys, wang zhi zhi plays for the warriors now (not dallas). at least, he's on their spl team.
The Rockets currently have no TV deal in place. They won't have one for a while yet. They will be back with FSN, but whether they go back with channel 20 or not is still up in the air.
So have schedules been released or not? I checked the Chron this morning, but I couldn't find anything about the 2k2-2k3 NBA schedules.
I'll go with Clippers at Houston. Two teams loaded with young talent, the first home game for Yao Ming... very intriguing matchup. Schedule should be out any minute, probably...
I'll say Houston will start on the Road to accommodate Ming getting some games in before his home debut. I'll say Grizzlies 1st game, and Kings first home game.
Schedule just released. Opening night national game is Lakers and Spurs. Opening night is at Indiana. Six national TV games. From nba.com "The first pick of the 2002 NBA Draft, Yao Ming, will make his first nationally televised appearance when he leads the Houston Rockets into America West Arena to face the Phoenix Suns on Nov. 15 at 10:30 p.m. ET on ESPN." I counted about 6 televised games for Rocks. http://www.nba.com/schedules/national_tv_schedule/
Oct 30 Wed @ Indiana 6:00 pm -- -- Nov 1 Fri @ Denver 8:00 pm -- -- 2 Sat Toronto 7:30 pm -- -- 5 Tue Seattle 7:30 pm -- -- 9 Sat Golden State 7:30 pm -- -- 12 Tue Portland 7:30 pm -- -- 15 Fri @ Phoenix 9:30 pm -- ESPN we have a verrrry weak first 7 games i hope we take adv of this
Once again, the league and networks wait to see how the teams pan out before making commitments on games for the end of the season. STOP THE PANIC!!! os
wow, ABC is hosting NBA?! looks like everyone wants a piece of the action. also how often is ESPN hosting? I live in IL, so I only get like 2-3 rockets games a year so its been pretty rough. It was nice back in the days around the championship years when I would watch them consistently on TV. Now its like damn, the only rockets game i get to see is when the home team Bulls get there asses kicked by 50 by the rockets twice a year. I cant wait till this year, when yao comes and then ESPN AND TBS AND TNT find intrest in the Rockets!!
Cleveland played better than Houston last season but will get ZERO national TV broadcasting in the new season. Is it because we have Ming?
Our first 7 games and the whole month of April appear to be an easy schedule, so if the Rockets can gel together in the middle of the season a 4th or 5th seed seems extremely possible if we stay healthy,Eddie continues to play well and Yao shows glimpses of brillance as Eddie did last year.
