I haven't seen either, but I hear that SAW is better than The Grudge.

The Grudge is one of the worst movies I've ever seen.

Trying to think of recent bad movies.

Was it worse than Paycheck or Man on Fire?

Worse than Charlie's Angels 2 would be a serious low.

The only movie I have ever walked out of was Judge Dread. My gf really wants to see The Grudge, but if anyone can confirm that it is on the level of Charlie's Angels 2, I will nix that idea all together.

just came back from "Saw". pretty entertaining movie. probably the best horror movie since 28 days later. quite gory too, but there were more than a few moments of twists and turns that i didn't expect. a very original (well, i've never seen anything like it) film. i give it an 8 out of 10.

saw looks pretty good and there's no way it can be worse than the grudge so i'd go for that. grudge and charlies angels 2 are similar in that they're both funny in their crappiness but chalies angels 2 is probably the worst movie ever created. well actually probably second to that boys and girls movie a few years back.

I walked out on the grudge twice. NOt because it was horrible but the audience was the most ghetto audience in all the land. People were giggling at parts they had no business giggling. Laughing at the japanese people's accents. Guys screaming extensively out of no where. People talking all sorts of stupid talk during the movie. I thought it was just the first crowd but we went again the next night and the same things happened.

Maybe it was just the theater or maybe I'm just getting old. I tried watching it at AMC dunvale and then first colony.

From what I saw the grudge isn't that great. I'm sure the japanese version is much better which is set to be released on DVD November 9th. So if you haven't seen it yet I suggest you wait til it comes out on DVD and rent it then. Netflix has it on their list.

I'd put my money on SAW since it's rated R and theaters now adays check for ID for age to keep the kids out while Grudge is rated PG-13.

Saw was pretty good. Pretty gory and had a decent story to it. I would comment a bit more, but I'd spill to much. But since malacu saw it

    -----SPOILERS------

What was the killers motive? Got confused there....

to show the victims the value of life, not to take it for granted. but it's hard to see the correlation with the doctor and photographer. remember the drug addict? apparently, after her ordeal, she went cold turkey.

EDIT: i take that back. the doctor didn't realize how good he had it. it was not until his wife and kid were taken from him that he realized he had a perfect life.

RM, I may get to see a movie today ... give me your top 5 or so movies that are currently playing, if you see this. Quick! I checked pb.com but you only have a few reviews there, it looks like.

    Collateral
    Garden State
Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow
I Heart Huckabees (pretty out there though)
    Napoleon Dynamite

Sounds like you can't go wrong with Ray, either, but I haven't seen it yet.

    I thought "Saw" was amazing.

For me, it could even be better than "Seven".

I saw the Grudge and thought it was pretty good, lots of freaky scenes...it reminded me of the ring for some reason, maybe it was the same writer/director b/c the ring was also a remake of a japanese film "Ringu". I liked it, haven't seen saw yet.

    My God that was funny.

I saw SAW, I thought it was really good, I will refuse to go see The Grudge, just watching the previews for it I knew it was going to be dumb.
