I thought y'all might be interested. I was sitting in the dentist's office and in walks Penny, picks up Sports Illustrated and starts flipping through it. I did talk to him for a few minutes, got his comments on the Suns team this year, Amare Stoudemire and the summer league, and how they're treating him in Phoenix. He was pretty nice, didn't seem thrilled to talk to me, but was polite for the minute it took to respond to me. I didn't have anything to autograph (all I had was a biography of Jane Austen), so I just let him be after asking him the things I had to ask him. If y'all want to know what he said let me know, but if y'all want to dog me for putting this in the wrong forum, that's alright too. I don't want to hype y'all up or anything, he didn't give me any revelations, but it was the first time I ever met a basketball player so I was pretty excited.
I would have been pretty hyped myself meeting an NBA player. I was gonna write a post about how I saw Stevie Wednesday cruising right beside me on BriarForest but I figured no one would care. I think I told everyone at the gym I saw him though...
I didn't really ask him any Rockets questions because I figured if he wanted to talk it would probably be about his own team, which is one of the teams we really need to beat if we're going to make the playoffs. I'm sure somebody here knows more than I do about this, but I figure he's down here working out with Rocket buddies. And, look, I just put this here because it's always so exciting to me when somebody posts a thread about a player sighting. This is the first time I've had anything of my own to offer in return to the guys who post here, but I'm sorry it's not a Rocket sighting. He was at the Rockets' dentist though. Is that good enough?
thats awesome! it's crazy when you unexpectedly meet an NBA player. I've never done that, but i've met them expectedly. I got some vancouver connections...so i got into the Grizzlies locker room a few years ago, talked to shareef, bryant reeves, and a few others. But before i got in there i saw a bunch of houston rocket players, cuz it was a grizzlies/rockets game. talked quickly to clyde, dream, saw barkley. Didn't really get any smart comments in, seeing as i wasn't even a teen-ager at the time...but it was really cool.

So does Penny live here, too? I mean, it's one thing to see a player at a restaurant or in a club, but the dentist's office?
not dogging you its just even if he was playing the rockets tonight There are alot of people here that belive because he is not on roster or in trade talks with Houston even if he was living here ....in other words OTHER people here think this forum can only deal Rockets and only Rockets nothing about anything or anyone else.... You can talk about rockets games...PS2 games about Rockets..Rockets player shoe contracts...but anything NBA related well shame on you you are a person that has commited the BBS sin of all sins... Dont let it worry ya just know the way MOST are like here so ya have to go with the flow or not post new threads unless its totaly about Rockets...or get lambasted...
Yeah, I don't want to step on anyone's toes about it. I almost only read this forum, and I just thought I finally had something to give back to everybody who I read here. I was afraid if I put it in the other forum nobody would see it. Since I'm not getting exclusively torn up, let me write what he did tell me. On the Suns: "We're going to be young this year ... real young." On Amare Stoudemire: "He's good, real good." On Summer league: "Yeah, Amare did a great job there, but summer league is summer league. You have to do it in the regular season." On his treatment in Phoenix: "I don't worry about it. It comes with the territory." He was polite to me, but didn't seem like he was really interested in talking, so I let him be. It's not much, but I'm glad I got to talk with him on a few things, and not be an idiot.
Arthur Barclay was in my History class. For those that don't know, he is dajaun wagner's best friend and a nice forward prospect. Also, I meet penny at a gym in memphis. He's a cool person.
my uncle met penny a few times at his store in memphis..and its also his hometown.. i never seen him but penny gave my cuzin a shoe with his autograph in memphis. so that was tight
Next time you think about posting in the wrong forum, ask yourself if you are important enough that the admins should have to clean up after you and put your thread in the right forum. The Rockets forum is the busiest forum, and it doesn't need to be cluttered with non-Rockets topics.
