I've probably exhausted my quota of movie threads for the month, but I just got back from this movie, and thoroughly enjoyed it! I am not much of a movie reviewer, but I will say that it shed some light into Christianity and how different people interpret it. Saved! is basically centered around a Christian high school. The main protagonists in the movie, which range from a few teenage boys and girls as well as the youth's pastor, all of whom have different troubles and concerns regarding their faith in God, and they all express (or conceal) their problems in interesting ways. The characters at times seem a bit overdramatic in their expression of faith, but it portrayed a relatively believable setting and a satisfying resolution. I am not trying to give much of the movie away, obviously, but for more complete reviews check out these links: http://www.suntimes.com/output/ebert1/wkp-news-saved28f.html http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/Saved-1132639/ I'm interested in hearing what others thought of this movie.
Heard about this movie and looks pretty funny. With a solid cast of Jena Malone, Mandy Moore, Macaulay Culkin, and Heather Matarazzo I am tempted to see it this weekend over Chronicles of Riddick,
i know this is a funny movie, but is this a movie that is very pro-christian, if you know what i mean? is it touting the wonders of jesus and god, etc, or is it just a fun spoof? i dont want to see it if its all 'christianity is awesome, everything else is wrong' type of movies, so im just wondering.
i haven't seen it, but the commercials in no way indicate it will be that type of movie. seems pretty obvious to me that its just a spoof.
What commercials have you been watching? It's clearly a satire. I mean, who can put a positive spin on a pastor doing flips on a stage and shouting "who's down with G-O-D?"
