I notice in the Cato Thread the rockets
are working out Saul Smith at the Review

What are your impressions of him?

I'm not that impressed and seriously doubt
he can crack our line up [can he play the
    2?]

Saul can't play the two. They want him and Colson to play the one when they are at the "camps".

Actually I'll bet Boney and Colson will play more one than Saul.

Saul cannot hit the broad side of the Compaq Center. I wouldn't worry about it unless the Rox hire Tubby as an assistant. If that happens Saul may be our starting PG.

Actually I already lost that bet. Boney Watson was placed as a reserve guard only, and will not travel to LA.

It will be fun watching Dan Langhi play the two though!

Saul is a HORRENDOUS shooter. I am not even sure how he started for a D1 program like Kentucky.

Oh yeah, his dad was the coach.

His brother G.G. was a better player out of Georgia.

I'm putting my money on Darren Kelly for the camps. Anyone else?

If I remember correctly, Rudy T did coach with Tubby Smith for the Olympics, I'm guessing inviting Saul Smith was just a favor to Tubby.

Outstanding call PRM. I've been racking my brain trying to figure out why we're even bothering to invite a player who couldn't even hold his own in D1, and the Tubby connection explains it perfectly.

I'm rooting for the guy, but he's a classic tweener. I personally htink he's a good athlete though.

It was super cool of the Rockets to invite Darren Kelly. I'm rooting for him, too, but I think it's more realistic for him that he will impress the European scouts.

Calvin Murphy Jr, now THAT was a favor.
