Exactly. Competition is a good thing. There's nobody in this thread who is denying that Apple has put out some great products and is a juggernaut in the mobile industry. We may disagree with their business practices and prefer Android, but that's the beauty of choice. Hurray for innovation. Hey Scarface, why hasn't your lord and savior Steve Jobs rolled away the stone yet? Is that why you can't go start your own Apple gloat thread and leave us in peace? Just asking.
Motorola Droid Razr is another option for folks that don't want the Nexus Prime. It was announced a day earlier. It has gingerbread though. Motorola says no ICS until early 2012. It could mean June 30th, 2012 technically.
So Verizon finally made the official announcement that it will be carrying the phoen. No date though.
My guess is it won't be released earlier than the Razr, which was announced first. Droid Razr is October 27th for pre-orders and November 6th for release. They don't want to announce a date and kill the sales of their "exclusive" Droid Razr pre-orders next week. Just a guess.
I certainly don't approve of Scarface's methods, as I see Apple threads **** up all the time by this sort of stuff, but it is amusing to see all the concern pop up from guys who usually join in the 'fun' on the other side. Last year I remember discussions about how the 4 was, in fact, performance wise near (or at) top of the line and that the GPU was top notch. It appears to be the case once again this year. Android fans are usually all about specs - until, of course, it is no longer in their best interest to do so.
Btw, remember that Vigor I was telling you guys about? Should be known as the Rezound. Looks like that is coming as well. Another option for you guys who actually like HTC Sense.
The GPU in the 4 is the same as the one in the 3GS. The 3GS always beat the 4 in all graphic benchmarks due to the lower resolution screen
The 3GS and Iphone 4 used a powerVR SGX535. At the time of iphone 4 the SGX540 had passed it. However apple really stepped to the plate using a sgx543mp2. It is a monster and will probably be head of the class for at least a year.
Verizon likes to sell their latest LTE phones at that price for some reason. You'll probably be able to get a better deal if you go with an authorized Verizon wireless retailer, or online.
If you got to wirefly, amazon, radioshack or other retailer, you can can get smartphones for free to $149. You also save money on the sales tax.
LOL.......there are 10-15 android phones per carrier......vs. Now 3 iPhones (1st time having a free one). Android has market share.....Iphone MAKES MONEY. All about the Benji's baby. IOS developer MAKE more money on IOS platform. I would hope you lead in app downloads when leading in Marketshare...LOL. Let's see how many of those 2 Flagship Android phones sell in the first weekend, week, month. It won't be 4 million in 3 days.
A quote from that article: “Android’s app downloads per user still lag behind Apple’s by 2 to 1,” said Dan Shey, practice director of mobile services at ABI.
