    Konstantine - Something Corporate

I don't know why but that song always mesmerizes me, makes me think back to a time when I felt that way about a stupid girl.

actually these are pretty much songs that aren't sad in general, but they make me indulge in self pity when I'm down.

    Hootie - Let Her Cry
Jet - Look what you've done
    Evanescence - My Immortal
Red hot Chili Peppers - Under the Bridge
Avenged Sevenfold - I Won't see you tonight part 1
    Jurassic 5 - Thin Line

You want sad? Lou Reed's Berlin. Brilliant, and very, very sad. It even has a song called, appropriately, Sad Song.

Jeff Buckley is another with many sad songs. Excellent stuff, and he left us too soon. Grace is a good LP. Forget Her always grabs me.

So many sad songs... from so many artists. This thread could go for several pages.

droxford, thanks, man. But don't get me wrong. I friggin' change the station (I think ONLY 99.1 plays that anymore) when I hear it, just because I hate MIDLER. Like Manny said,
and by golly, that sounds SAD to me. I dig the "bwahahaha" GIF. I dig it. :D

One of my personal favorite sad songs is "Why Does It Always Rain on Me?" by Travis. Heck, the whole album "The Man Who" is relatively depressing.

gmao. :D you posted something about travis in a manny thread. i remember bringing up the band and then them being called "just not good" or something to that effect. but... i definitely agree. that particular cd kicks major arse. from what i remember, there was only one upbeat song on that whole cd... something about "and i love you so. let's watch the flowers grow" or something like that (i think it's number 4, 5, or 6). [drunk post... sorry]. one of my fav bands. i phocked up that cd (just like the rest of my collection) by throwing them in the back seat of my car. you just reminded me to rebuy the album. thanks.

    anyway... sad songs...

not a big fan of blink, but "adam's song" is so darn depressing. seether's "fine again", and...

not sure who originally sang this song, but whatever version i hear... well... it always kicks arse....

    "Change your heart
    Look around you
    Change your heart
    It will astound you
    I need your lovin'
    Like the sunshine

    Everybody's gotta learn sometime
    Everybody's gotta learn sometime
    Everybody's gotta learn sometime

    Change your heart
    Look around you
    Change your heart
    Will astound you
    I need your lovin'
    Like the sunshine

    Everybody's gotta learn sometime
    Everybody's gotta learn sometime
    Everybody's gotta learn sometime

    I need your lovin'
    Like the sunshine

    Everybody's gotta learn sometime
    Everybody's gotta learn sometime

    Everybody's gotta learn sometime
    Everybody's gotta learn sometime
    Everybody's gotta learn sometime

    Everybody's gotta learn sometime
    Everybody's gotta learn sometime
    Everybody's gotta learn sometime"

last minute google search... some guy named korgis? hmmmm... first version i heard was on the "eternal sunshine of the spotless mind" soundtrack.

Man on the Moon, by R.E.M., always strikes me as a very sad song., one I keep listening to. Teardrop, by Massive Attack, is another good one.

Boyz II Men - Water runs Dry

Bonnie Raitt- I can't make you love me.

    Turn down the lights
    Turn down the bed
Turn down these voices inside my head
Lay down with me, tell me no lies
Just hold me close, don't patronize
    Don't patronize me.
Cause I can't make you love me if you don't
You can't make your heart feel something it won't
Here in the dark, in these final hours
I will lay down my heart and I'll feel the power
But you won't, no you won't
Cause I can't make you love me if you don't.
I'll close my eyes, then I won't see
The love you don't feel when you're holdin me
Mornin will come and I'll do what's right
Just give me till then to give up this fight
And I will give up this fight.
Cause I can't make you love me if you don't
You can't make your heart feel something it won't
Here in the dark, in these final hours
I will lay down my heart and I'll feel the power
But you won't, no you won't
Cause I can't make you love me if you don't.

An ex-girlfriend told me she couldn't listen to Bonnie Raitt anymore after we broke up because of this song. When I listened to it closely it made me so sad. It gives me chills now to read the lyrics.

God, the one song that comes to mind, because it reminds me of my recent break up, and downfall, was The Killers- Everything Will Be Allright

I believe in you and me
    I'm coming to find you
If it takes me all night
    Wrong until you make it
    And I won't forget you
    At least I'll try
    And run, and run tonight
    Everything will be alright
    Everything will be alright
    Everything will be alright
    Everything will be alright

I was out shopping for a doll
To say the least, I thought I've seen them all
But then you took me by surprise
I'm dreaming bout those dreamy eyes
I never knew, I never knew
So take your suitcase, cause I don't mind
And baby doll, I meant it ever time
    You don't need to compromise
I'm dreaming bout those dreamy eyes
I never knew, I never knew
    But it's alright...

    Everything will be alright
    Everything will be alright
    Everything will be alright
    Everything will be alright

****, its making me think of the way she looked when I would watch her sleep.....
