Ryan Adams rocks, even if he is a lunatic. "Gold" was a great album, and his work with Whiskeytown is great as well. His music makes Bryan Adams' music sound like the wet goose farts his schmaltzy songs truly are.

Ryan Adams' only problem is that he needs to learn that heckling is part of the game if you are going to be a performer. Deal with it.

When I'm performing one of my gigs and somebody heckles, my favorite response is...

"Somebody buy that guy a drink. And piss in it for me".:D

    Works every time.....

I would have stayed and told Ryan Adams that I was doing the rest of the club a favor by causing him to stop playing. In fact, I would have offered to follow him around for life, thus benefitting the music loving public.

I have no idea if he sucks or not...I would have said it though. :D

What would have REALLY shut the guy up and been even funnier would have been for him to ACTUALLY PLAY Summer of 69. That's how you shut up the heckler. You one-up him.

It's not like it's a tough song. It's like 4 chords. Here, I'll give them to you...

    VS

    D A D A (repeat 4x)

    Bridge

    Bm Bm D G (repeat 3x)
    Bm Bm D A

    Chorus

    D A D A (repeat 4x)

    Yeah, that's really tough! :D

I saw Whiskeytown some years ago at the Satellite cause a friend of mine was in the band. I thought they were pretty good, but Adams was very pompous. A total turnoff every time he talked. And they really weren't even famous yet. My friend quit the band (after years of complaining about him being a jerk). I've never heard his solo stuff, but this story makes perfect sense. Then again, Dylan was an ******* too. He was just better at it.

Ryan Adams is sensational and makes and plays great music and hence cannot be confused by the Bryan....

Ryan has just released his third album and the follow up to the extremely successful and brilliant Gold album, his first Cd Heatbreaker is also just as good and his new cd also sounds like good stuff, just going to buy now.

    Bryan Adams blows...............................

    story is kinda funny.

i remember telling a guy i just bought the album 'gold' by ryan adams and he looked at me funny.
laughed my ass off and quickly told him no, its not that canadian with the duet with that spice girl.

is his new album comparable to 'gold'?

Summer of '69 is a great song, better than anything this little prick has to offer, I'm sure.

Great for a soundtrack to a oral sex-fixated porno movie maybe.

Dude, the one your mom starred in?

Seriously, what is wrong with that terrific, classic song. Why do people dislike it?
