Remember their offer to Yao to play a role in the movie? They end up "signing" Sun Ming Ming. Here's a clip Sun plays in the movie, imagine that could have been Yao, so glad he rejected the offer. http://v.blog.sina.com.cn/b/2652015-1271638160.html But the trailer is funny as hell. Chris Tucker rocks. http://www.apple.com/trailers/newline/rushhour3/
that trailer looked like the writer said to himself, "hmmm, well i cant think of anything funny, so lets just make fun of french people the whole movie, everybody will love that!"
i love the first two movies but this one looks like a rehash of those and kind of boring. like we've already seen these joke. should of released it years ago. also chris tucker looks a little chunky, no? i'll still be there opening night.
So Tucker got $25 mil for Rush Hour 3. Wow! How does somebody who's not in demand as an actor (His last 2 movies were Rush Hour 1 and 2) command such a high price tag?
Honestly, I am quite surprised that the majority here have a totally different feeling on the trailer from me. Guess we have very different taste. Also you must have been tired of the American vs French jokes. I am tired of Jackie Chan too but I will still go to movie, because of Chirs Tucker, and the French jokes.
I was unimpressed by the trailer. I think it will be overproduced and not that great. It's got that same sort of feeling Ocean's 13 had where it looked like all the actors were having fun making it but not really that great or fun of a movie to see. It'll probably be weak, but I'll get around to seeing it some time (not in theatres).
I saw the movie tonight. I laughed the entire time. I mean it was predictable like and Action Comedy but I was entertained for two hours.
I thought this one was better than the 1st two (not that they were cinematic masterpieces or anything).
i saw it on saturday and i thought it was funny as heck, but it was only 86 minutes. i think they shoulda made it longer
Saw it today at thought it was allright. I actually didn't like as much as the first two. I just think I sat there at said, "I've seen this all before." I think that's what really stopped me from really enjoying the movie. Almost felt like another episode of a TV show or something. Hard to explain. But, despite me not loving it, when it ended I was hoping they would make another one for some reason. I'd give it a solid 6 out of 10.
The movie wasn't that bad actually, I enjoyed it. I didn't really like it as much as the first 2 either. Some of the comedy seemed forced, or a little too childish for my taste. But it was entertaining for the most part. Also it could have used a little more action sequences/fight scenes.
I saw this movie on Saturday also and thought it was very good! Not as good as part one but about the same as the sequel. People are complaining about how its just like the other two or whatever but that what a series is suppose to be. It stayed to its roots, the action comedy that people love from Chan/Tucker is all there. If you were expecting something completely different from the first two, then its no wonder why you did not enjoy it. Not to mention that these two are great duo and have amazing chemistry. Kind of like the other Black-Asian combo here in Houston. It's also nice to see a minority based movie making big bucks at the box office.
Pretty simple. Hold out until they pay you what you want. The studio's wanted to make Rush Hour 3 which means they needed Tucker back. He said he didn't want to come back unless the price was right. Im pretty sure I read a artical that said the only reason it took so long is becuase Tucker was holding out to get his payday. I think Chan was upset because it took him such a long time to agree to do the film. Anyways thats how Mr. Tucker got $25 mill for doing this film.
