If Rudy gets the GOP nomination, it will be interesting to watch the Religious Right try to discount his failures as a husband and a father.
not to mention the fact that he is pro-choice. and pro-gun control and pro-dressing like a woman and anti-nyfd
WASHINGTON - The daughter of Republican presidential hopeful Rudy Giuliani signaled she was supporting Democrat Barack Obama, then backed off when faced with questions. On her Facebook profile, 17-year-old Caroline Giuliani listed herself as a member of Obama's Facebook group, "Barack Obama (One Million Strong for Barack)." She left the group Monday morning after the online magazine Slate sent an inquiry and later in the day, a spokeswoman said she did not intend to comment on the 2008 race. "Before the presidential campaign got under way, Caroline added herself to a list on Facebook as an expression of interest in certain principles," said the spokeswoman, Joannie Danielides. "It was not intended as an indication of support in a presidential campaign, and she has removed it." Her profile can be viewed by Facebook users who have access to New York City's Trinity School or Harvard University networks. Caroline, who is Giuliani's daughter with his second wife, Donna Hanover, recently graduated from Trinity and will attend Harvard in the fall. Slate posted a screen shot of her profile, which uses a slightly different last name. She lists herself as having liberal political views. Giuliani, campaigning in Iowa, declined to comment on his daughter's political preference. "My daughter I love very much," he told reporters outside an Italian restaurant in Clear Lake. "I have great respect for her, and I'm really proud of her, and I don't comment on children, because I want to give them the maximum degree of privacy. "The best thing to do, if you want to ask the press to leave the children alone, the best way to do it is not to comment on them one way or the other, except to say you're very proud of them, and you love them very much, which I do," he said. The Obama campaign did not have any comment. Giuliani, a leading Republican candidate, has asked for privacy to deal with strained relationships in his family. Son Andrew, 21, has said their relationship became distant after Giuliani's messy divorce from the children's mother and his marriage to third wife Judith Nathan. "There's obviously a little problem that exists between me and his wife," Andrew Giuliani told The New York Times earlier this year. In May, Giuliani attended his daughter's high school graduation but kept a low profile, sitting in a last row balcony seat with his wife and leaving without speaking to his daughter, the New York Daily News reported.
i am sure there are some great dinner conversations at the guiliani household. i am sure if she becomes more vocal about supporting barack it will be a blow to the guiliani camp. i mean if he cant get his own family to back him, how is he supposed to expect america to? wake me up in march or so when the election s*** slinging starts thats when i get interested
I agree with Rudy a bit here... the girl's 17 and she's on Facebook. Big whoop. Shouldn't have been brought up... not important, not necessary, tells you nothing about Rudy other then he might have his own version of Alex Keaton. Leave her alone and don't put her in a position where the campaign people feel they have to bully her around to make Dad look good. On the other hand, the son is 21 and definitely has stuff to say and is willing to say it, so he's fair game... and his stuff does go to the kind of person Rudy is...
Is the GOP as scared of Obama as this tactic makes it appear? Or is the GOP just kind of bored, having already perfected all the anti-Hilary machinery?
I'd say the GOP is reluctant to trot this A-bomb out there until they absolutely must do so. Let me ask you this, Sizzler, has the left held back at all in terms of associating Mitt Romney with Mormons? Is that not the same principle at work?
guess you have missed it lately TJ (and since he is nothing more than a Republican parrot) by extension, the Republican party have been trying to slander Obama by insinuating that since his father practices Islam, Obama is not worthy or cant be trusted to hold power in this country. evidently Obama is a Muslim mole sent here to take us down from the inside. seems a bit racist to me, but I guess considering the Conquistadork's normal MO, folks around here dont notice it anymore
