Good news: http://www.dfw.com/mld/startelegram/news/state/6986466.htm Posted on Sat, Oct. 11, 2003 Report: Former Rockets coach's cancer in remission Associated Press HOUSTON - Rudy Tomjanovich's doctor said Friday the former Houston Rockets coach's cancer is in remission. Dr. Rick Goldfarb told Houston television station KRIV that a third biopsy on Tomjanovich showed that treatments for his bladder cancer have been successful. "Rudy is in complete remission," said Goldfarb, deputy chief of urology at Methodist Hospital in Houston. "There is no evidence of cancer at this time." Tomjanovich, who was diagnosed with bladder cancer on March 17, has been undergoing treatments since June. Goldfarb told the station that Tomjanovich will continue "very careful long-term surveillance and prolonged treatments, but in smaller doses." After 12 years as head coach, Tomjanovich stepped down in May after negotiating a settlement of the remaining two years of his contract with the Rockets worth $12 million. He led the Rockets to the NBA title in 1994 and 1995.
Swoly: That's easy. Les. No one else had the authority. I don't necessarily disagree with the decision, but it couldn't have been handled any worse than it was.
My prediction is that Flip Suanders will coach the Twolves to another first round exit and will be let go. Rudy will be the Twolves coach by the start of training camp next year.
haha, just like the movie, "Remember the Titans" one coach coaches the offense and the other coaches the defense......brings up memories of the former Oilers defensive and offensive coaches, Buddy Ryan and Kevin Gillbride, man did Buddy take a mean swing at him. I dont know if I could see Rudy coaching the other half and JVG coaching the other especially if this used to be Rudy's team (even though it will always be). itzIce
Great news! I'll be sorry to see him coach a different team next year, but I'm glad he'll be healthy enough to keep coaching.
Yes! Now that is good news. It seems there is a lot of griping done about the Rockets. I like hearing something good.
