lets not place all of the blame on dawson or even van gundy.... because the reality of the matter is.... who was vouching for MoT, moochie, cato,... to be signed to HUGE contracts.... rudy t..... who passed up on rashard lewis.... rudy t..... who traded away our pick that could of landed us richard jefferson,..... rudy t.... so basically, what i am trying to say is that van gundy and dawson have alot of rudy's crap to clean up, and it will take a while. rudy ruined the rockets with bad contracts and HORRIBLE draft picks.... so give us alittle time..... because it takes a while to clean up all of rudy t's ****.

the only stuff left from when rudy was here is yao, boki, and mo.

mo is the only thing that has to be "cleaned up" fro, rudy's days.

the rest: JH, spoon, gaines, lue, bowen, ward, jj, sura....is all JVG.

oh, and it wasn't rudy who let posey walk, or cut eddie.

True. Good point. We are stuck with a lot of dead weight. Still, I feel we should be able to score 80 points on a more consistent basis.

Only ones on your "rest" list brought here by JVG is ward and jj. The rest was to either to get rid of Rudy players or because we really didn't have anything to offer.

You obvious thought the Tmac trade was bad.

    Great point clove.

Kudos must be given to Rudyt for acquiring Yao, Cat and Francis. But mistakes like Maloney, Mirsad, EG, Serge Zwiker, Boki, Rice, Jason, tito madux, Randy livingston, Othella, Cato, Mooch, etc. takes years to undo.

In all Rudy remains a Houston icon and legend.

What plan? Resign Matt Maloney? Or offer The Chief a 10-day contract?

Sure the coach made the picks but it is ultimately the scouts who relay vital information to management. Eddie Griffin is still young and is doing good things in MSP. To tell you the truth I wish we still had Cato. He is an enforcer who is also a loose cannon. Something the Rox seriously lack...not to mention he is turning into a reliable rebounder...something the Rox wished they had. Sure picks go bad...that's what happens. In hindsight those picks really suck...don't they? They just did not pan out.

    you are grossly incorrect.

Spoon is here because Rudy T caved in to his young players and David Faulk and got CD to sign Moochie to that rifulous deal (those same players wore black arm bands when Moochie was traded... even though he played like garbage)

and lets no forget what is missing because of the old regieme

EG is gone - so while there is no warm body representing that mess, there is an open spot in the line up).

    no Rashard Lewis
    no Richard Jefferson
no first round pick last year because we had to trade it to get rid of Glen Rice... who we took from NY because we signed Shandon Anderson (another one of Faulk's players)

    get the point -

even though you can't always point to a player on the floor, you can see this currebt team has a lot more baggage from the old regieme than you think !

    What an ass.

You can't confidently pin any one of those things on Rudy instead of Carroll, because you have no idea who made those calls.

For some weird reason you have it in for Rudy. He may or may not have made those mistakes, but your vendetta's just weird.

Rudy's a hero in Houston and he always should be. If you don't understand that, go buy a history book.

Rudy made mistakes to be sure, but your beef with him is sillier than hell. Post more so you can be slapped down like you deserve. What an ass. What a fat, fat ass.

I love how we're the only team in the league that passed up players like Richard Jefferson, Rashard Lewis, Tony Parker, etc.

Granted Rudy is not the best scout in the league, but he did manage to get us Mobley in the 2nd round and pull of a trade that ended up lopsided in the long (actually short) run for an All Star point guard.

Honestly, i've always pondered the Pippen trade. Pippen was a very hot commodity at the time he wanted out and all we ended up showing for it was a way over payed Kelvin Cato. We could have done alot better trading for a draft pick.

I'm not saying Rudy made good or bad personal decisions. His record shows both. But i can't think of a single team that has made perfect moves throughout the years, Dallas would be the closest in my book. However, that would be up for debate.

good job Batman...remind me to buy you a extra beer later for that one. ;)

BradS and anyone else that has some msitaken agenda to rag on Rudy for every move that is made(or not made)...you obviously have very little idea how the chain of events occurs in player movemnts..

It is a joint effort....if you want to rag on managemnt for moves made or not made....you should at least point the finger to the right people..

besides......the EG move was widely applauded around here....how the hell were they to know that EG would eventually freak out?

and also...money decisions arent made in a vacuumm....look at other contracts given to players on other teams at that time to determine what the market value was of simialr players.....the contracts may look like crap now...but at the time, they clearly felt them necessary to retain players that were playing good at the time

tho...Im sure none of these things will make a difference, and you will continue posting crap that will force Batman to come in here and slap you down again.
