Listened to the Rudy T show on 950 on the way home tonight (every Wednesday throughout the season).

From what Rudy said, it does not look good for Langhi. He basically said that Langhi really doesn't have a place on the team. More precisely he said that he really does not fit in a particular spot. He also acknowledged that Langhi's ankle injury really hurt his chances.

He, of course, was high on having Willis back in the fold.

He wouldn't say much regarding the line-up for the next game. He did not want to give anything away as to which players will make the team.

All in all, a pretty entertaining radio show. Not a ton of commercials with pretty serious insight into Rudy's actual thoughts.

Damn I like Langhi. :( Given the chance I think he can turn out to be a pretty decent player.

Is that exactly what Rudy said? I have a hard time believing Rudy would be so blunt about one of his players like that. Usually they don't show their hand on matters like that.

    Old school,
It is not verbatum, but not fitting in a particular spot and the injury hurting his chances are almost word for word. Sorry, it is the best I can remember. I was pretty amazed. He was pretty blunt. I was also disappointed. I like Langhi alot!

I'm hoping that Rudy was using those statements to motivate Langhi.

Sounds like Bullard taught Langhi pretty well to me. Did Bullard ever fit in a particular spot. And didn't his "injuries" usually come in quite handy for us.

Our team is overloaded at SF but a hang nail away from losing Rice and backup to injuries....look's like a job for AIR Bullard's Boy Wonder on the IR to me.

    Houstone,
    Every Wednesday, 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

    HCrispeeP,
You may be right. It also may be wishful thinking. Rudy did not make it sound like Langhi had a long-term future with this team. I hope he a least lands on IR. I think the guy deserves a chance to develop. Personally, I see alot of undeveloped talet there. The guy couldn't have been the SEC player of the year without something to back it up.

Great news. Rudy finally realizes that Langhi is just not right for the team.

I think Langhi will be on the IR,Rudy will encourage him to work hard in practice so he can earn his minutes when someone goes down.

It's not like Langhi isn't good enough to make the team, it's just that we have too many players in one position. He is going to be a good player offensively, and I hope that he makes it on another team that needs him.

    I'm gonna miss u bro.... :(

Soryr to ruin you "great news" Francis3, but all it means is that Langhi is going to IR. I doubt if Rudy would have bothered talking about Langhi if he didn't plan to keep him. Langhi will be an insurance policy, so expect him to be placed on injured reserve real soon, i.e. his "injured" ankle.

Ah same thing, he wont be on the court. I just hope Jason Collier heads there as well.

Rudy i bet is thinking that hes really stupid to draft those 2.

Did the Rockets already pick up the 2nd year option on Langhi?

I agree with Crispee on this point, langhi is the 2nd coming of Bullard - and there were many key games that Bullard won the game for us. Next to Glen Rice, Langhi is probably are best spot up shooter (SF). He could easily be another Hornacek (utah) type of spot up shooter.

If they Rockets are smart, they will get some of these SF's enough playing time to show potential (to other teams) to set up a trade down the road. Damn we are loaded with talent this year.

Funny because I called this one the other day. Clutch and I were discussing the cut downs and I said that I bet Langhi would either not make the cut or get IR'ed. The problem I see with Langhi is that he just doesn't have the flow on the court. He looks awkward and uncomfortable.

I think another thing that really hurt him was the play of Morris who has been the opposite of awkward and uncomfortable. With Rice, Williams and Morris, that sorta leaves Langhi on the outside looking in.

    My guess for a lineup:

    Cato
    Thomas
    Rice
    Mobley
    Francis

    Willis
    Griffin
    Williams
    Torres
    Norris

    Morris
    Jones

    IR:
    Collier
    Langhi

Jeff, Thats exactly the way I see our lineup (100%).

I think Jones will be the surprise, he really helped himself out with those 8 assist the other night.

To bad we dont have room for IKE!! He would be a great backup, if Cato or Willis gets hurt.

Isn't Langhi under contract? I don't see the Rockets cutting him if he's still gett'in paid.

Mr. Langhi, I see back spasms in your future.

Listen guys, Dan Langhi can play, and in the right situation could even flourish.

The problem is that he really does not fit the Rockets anymore.

If Rudy has decided that, I hope that Dan refuses to go onto IR, and takes the cut, so he can hook on with a team that can use him.

He is a NBA player who just needs minutes to get comfortable.

    Dadakota,

Agree with what you say. I think, if somehow Lanky is not on IR or not cut........we are looking to move Walt out. They will keep Dl as insurance till Rice situation clears up.......and Wlat is traded......else they just move him on...to IR or anothr team!!!
