Roy to Rockets?

that would be a dream come true, he is big, fast, quick, can creat his own shot, can hit the OPEN Shot.. he is every thing the rockets could want! the only bad thing is that i dont think JVG who dosnt like to play rookies would only give him limited minutes!

 

While i am happy to see this, what's changed? Have there been any workouts? injury rumours?

Hawks are desperate for a PG, they may reach for Marcus Williams if they think its too risky to trade down.

Drafting Roy would be great.He's a stud. He doesn't have any significant weakness.He would be the perfect SG for the Rockets.I hope we will draft him.

 

I hate hate hate hate it when people pass off a mock draft or scouts opinion of a player they've probably never seen as their own. You know what I mean when you see it.

 

Don't remember where I saw it, but the Hawks GM recently stated that he sees no reason to draft for position and that he very well might draft another swingman this off-season because there are a lot of 6'8" guys available and that's the ideal NBA height.

I wouldn't expect him to take Marcus Williams just yet.

 

I saw that too. It's sheer madness on his part, and I'd laugh my ass off at him, if it wasn't for the fact that he'll probably take a swingman away from us. If we miss out on Roy, Gay, AND Carney I'm going to be pretty pissed.

 

Read a little lower in the article and it mentions a workout featuring Roy and Redick. Doesnt say anything about Roy but redick dint sound so good in it. Apparently all he did was shoot 3s and that really bored and dissapointed the scouts. Seems like Redicks stock isnt going to go up. Bad for us.

 

actually I think that's good for the rockets.

I didn't think there was any team stupid enough to take redick in the top 7 to begin with. The more he uninspires, the more likely the rockets don't even think about taking him with #8.

 

I agree. The only team short-sighted enough to draft Redick in the top 10 is the Rockets, so having him play out of the top half of the 1st round will make it harder for them to reach for him.

It's sad, but if any team is gonna pick a bust just because they appear ready to help with needs now, it's gonna be us. Every other team in the lotto is rebuilding.

edit: I've did some research, it seems that most people pick Roy over Carney.

Good athlete but makes poor decisions and shoots a low percentage. Brandon Roy is the most complete player to come along in quite awhile and will be a very solid player for a long time. Maybe not a superstar, but certainly the next tier of productive solid players/borderline allstars (Rashard Lewis, Richard Jefferson, etc.) He won't be Scottie Pippen, but I think a poor man's Pippen is reasonable. Roy doesn't have elite speed or hops, but I think he often gets shortchanged in those areas because he is so fluid and smooth. If I am a GM I take Roy first every time since smart mature players are hard to find."
