I've followed George Williams since he and I were in middle school together, and it seems he's never gotten the chance to showcase his skills at UH. (You see him having a lot of 7-9, 6-7 nights from the field while the guards are all 8-20 and so on.) Anyway, what do you think about the Rockets taking a flyer on Williams in the second round, hoping that his shooting improves so he can play the SF? He's certainly athletic enough, and maybe they don't want to miss out on another hometown long-shot (read: Rashard Lewis).
Williams really hasn't progressed much since his freshman year. He's got good all around skills, but he's not great at any single thing. His biggest problem is that he can't get his own shot. He wasn't even the best forward at UH last year. That honor went to Louis Truscott (team MVP), who is pretty much a clone of Williams (size-wise and athletically), except he's much more aggressive. Williams should go back to UH, but if he does stay in the draft, he doesn't have much of a shot of making the Rockets. If we draft a SF at #15, then I seriously doubt that they'd take another one in the 2nd round. With a rookie SF and a 2nd year man (Morris), the Rockets can't really afford another young guy at the 3.
