As it stands now we have 9 players under contract, leaving room for up to 6 new or returning players. Of those 6 available spots, I think we would only want 2 of the current players back - the Hawk & Posey. Under contract: -Francis => PG/SG -Mobley => SG -Moochie => PG -Snackbar => SG/SF/PF (if you believe Yao) -Rice => SF -Eddie => PF/SF (if desperate) -MoT => PF -Cato => C -Yao => C Free Agents: -Tito => PG/SG -Hawk => SG/SF -Posey => SF/SG -TMo => (not sure what position to put him, been from 2 to 5) -Collier => C/LRO (left right out) The season just finished we only had 14 players of the 15 allowed players (or have i missed someone?). We all know our PF spot underplayed for the greater part of last year and we need either improvement or another player there. It is also a fact our guards need to play better team ball. What i would like to know is what positions do people want to see filled by new bodies on our roster, and the players too if they come to mind, ASSUMING WE KEEP OUR CURRENT CONTRACTED PLAYERS? While we can hope for a nice trade to get rid of some of our handbags under contract we can't count on that happening (tho we may dream). Nor can we count on the rox dumping contracts (unless they waive mooch ala Doc Roc's long forgotten comment). I think we need another backup PG (one that can pass), benchwarming veteran (any position) & a "baseline swingman" C/PF. We are covered nicely at the SF & SG spots. We could then leave last spot vacant saving a few dollars. Unfortunetly i have NFI (yet) as to who to get to fill those positions.
I would like to see TMo and Posey. Hwk always seemed out of place. He looked as though he worked too hard to get the simple things done. I'd love to add a stating passing sf or a back up sharp shooting vet sg. Or hopfully both. We could really use a tough pf also. Am I asking for too much?
