He would have scored 20 if anyone else was guarding. Please read the New York Times before posting. Thanks.
Everyone has a role to play because situations change doesn't mean Yao is deffering to him. And bringing up quotes, who said," I will do whatever Yao and Tmac tell me to do". ?
Who does? Ron is truly our leader. As Shane Battier has already said, He sets a tone for us each and every night, offensively and defensively. His toughness makes us go. Because it sure as hell has not been Yao, And even further down the pyramid is Tracy...who I am reminded of everytime I wipe my ass.... Charmin!
Not if Ron was, Read ESPN's "most feared defender"......Thanks. btw)Battier was a stud tonight. We have some scary defense on the perimeter....
So Ron declared himself as the leader? I don't think so. Although he is tough, he is not the one that carries the team. Yao is!
Like the guy said on the first page of this, it's RA not artest. Artest hasnt done anything amazing to prove he is the leader. He finally passes and he is our leader? gtfo of here please.
Ron is a leader. But he is not the leader. I don't know why people are getting bent out of shape over the quote. Adelman is the leader of the team. Battier, Ron, Yao, Brent, Chuck, and Scola all lead on the court.
so ron is yao ming's soldier no more? this is cool if he's just joking or semi-joking. but ron certainly is not the guy who makes this team go. and leadership in itself clearly cannot be self-claimed. see rafer.
Yao did defer to Ron...Yao played horrible tonight and his defense on the pick and roll has gotten either progressively worse or the player are much faster....by the way, its wasn't only Shanes fault that Roy scored 9 in the first minutes, it was a combination of Yao's fault too.......Everyone here on this board is being very optimistic and the sad thing is, once we lose a game, we will all be crying for T-Mac.......
How about shutting down Gerald Wallace? Diving on the floor for loose balls? Taking our young players aside for help? DRIVING to the basket when we need free-throws.(It has been a LONG time since that has happened) He has been a warrior. He is playing with effort, heart and hustle and is analytically and statistically leading our team in several areas, No doubt about it...
Everyone has a role to play, that's what he is known for doing, should that make him a leader because he finally decided to do it for us? Ron will never be a leader in Houston.
Good call! He is playing like a leader, and giving us the effort and toughness that we have not seen from our "Superstars" for a decade. Yao needs to step it up against the Cavs if we want to be a title contender...
