Definitely, good move. Actually put some thought into this trade. This is what trade speculations all about. Too bad Detroits too stubborn or they know what they have in Darko to do this trade.

Then again they do need a superstar and him and Billups are pretty similar system wise. I'm sure Francis would play great there. It's not like they're getting crap for their project.

I don't think it will be the case under the JVG regime, but has anyone else noticed how much the Rockets suck at developing talent? Maybe it's because CD always screws up our drafts, so we never get anyone good to develop (not including Yao). None of our draft picks ever get better except Steve and Cat, and that's just because they're so talented they did anyways.

    why would Detroit do this?

I bet a lot of GM's don't think Francis is an upgrade over billups

and then you throw in Darko too?

I agree with crossover. Billups although not a true PG is a good shooter and defender who fits their team well. Francis is more athletic but he would commit a lot of turnovers and I don't think the Pistons would be interested in him.

Potential sucks. We've had five years of potential. We're swimming in potential.

    EG had potential.

    I want results.

If SF is traded, it should be for a proven player.

Like Francis, Chauncey isn't a very good spot-up 3pt shooter, he's more of a rhythm shooter after he takes a few dribbles.

Sometimes I think you guys say stuff like this just to piss people off. Billups is a nice player but the only season he has come close to Steve's production is this past and this is Steve's worst season.

If they got Steve Francis they would trade Darko in a heartbeat.

After reading this thread again, why would anyone seriously think Darko and Billups, basically what you get, is an upgrade over what the Rockets have. No one knows what Darko is going to be like, at this point he is a downgrade at PF and Billups is a nice player, but he is Steve lite. You are taking the Darko risk, why? If you are going to trade Steve, you better get something proven.

Darko is worth the risk but he looks more like a great Small Forward as he isnt a power player.

i'd take okur over darko at this point.

what would be ideal is if we could get prince. that guy would be perfect for us.
