I was driving to work on Holcombe around the medical center and there it was. It was the "Be a Part of Something Big" Billboard w/ Francis skying for a dunk. Just something else to get me pumped for the upcoming season. So as any one else seen any of the billboards, and what do ya think? And last season was the first year I've lived in Htown since the 96-97 season so I was just wondering if the Rocks marketing had put up any billboards in last few seasons b/c the last one I remember were the ones from 96.
Right after you go over the San Jacinto River bridge on I-10 westbound...the same one..Stevie goin for the dunk...I'm impressed...I figgered the east side would never see any of these billboards..and here we are... Prwetty cool...can't wait to see the big Yao head one...
Cool, I have to go to San Jacinto Mall and see the billboard on the way back home. You are right about getting a billboard on the east side, especially one past the beltway. I guess they needed fans from the EAST SIIIDDEEE . By the way I live in the North Shore area, right by Channelview.
I like to say that the east side is invisible, cause when something happens out here..it never makes the news..even on a slow news nite...and weather....fuggedaboutit...I have better luck seeing if storms are over the area by walking outside... I drive by the billboard every day, I drive to Channelview from Baytown every day..Now if they would put a Yao one on 225..then I could see it when I go visit family in P-dena...
Here are a couple images of the first Steve billboard that went up on 08/06. The location is 59 and 1960. Enjoy!
I haven't seen any in Dallas. J/k. Thanks for the pics people - I doubt I'd get to see them otherwise, even when I drop into Houston every-so-often.
I want one near my house. I think the rocks are doing a good job of promoting this stuff. They know they have to promote hardcore now with the Texans in town.
I'm glad to see we're finally getting signs up. I remember in Chicago during the championship years they had all kinds of Bulls signs.
Saw the chinese version of the Yao billboard on 59 going North on Wilcrest. I also saw the solo english Mobley billboard on 45th South intersecting 59, kinda by the new stadium. I pass by there when i got to work, so I will try to take pics from my digital camera.
The Cuttino Mobley one is on 45 South right as you cross over 59 in downtown. It is on the left hand side.
Ming Sign in Southeast Houston!!! Sign right before u exit Woodridge on 45 South heading towards Galveston from Downtown.
