Some talk about the current situation - made interesting since it's coming from two people traveling with the team. http://www.nba.com/media/rockets/ROCKETSCASTSHOWJAN6AIR.mp3 - Importance of effort in the game tonight, if Ron and Tmac are back and the effort isn't there the "gloves may come off - if they haven't already" - Tmac is important - is struggling and needs to get his head straight and they need him in games where there is a close ending like the one in Atlanta - Everyone realizes that without Tmac the goal isn't attainable, with him the way he is it's not going to happen either - several times mention "if it's mental" in regards to tmac - what exactly is the issue - If the Rockets aren't winning games you are losing ground in the west - Jason = it's not likely that tmac is going to be a 4 point scorer with no effort - not trying to be a Pollyanna - also doesn't think (from everything that he's heard) that taking more time off is the answer - If Toronto becomes the norm, then obviously you sit him down, but he thinks that it won't last - Talk about Deke being the "galvanizing" presence... practice was spirited today (Monday) and seeing effort on the court from everyone including tmac - Craig = this is the point after seeing Atlanta that tmac either needs to bring it or sit... playing against Sixers, and see if he goes against Boston - next week or two is the time when the Rockets will move forward or if things falter they may not every realize their full potential - Talked about Deke and the interview from today - talking about the bench cheering for what's going on on the court in Atlanta that there hasn't been a lot of recently before him - Deke here to play maybe 5 minutes a game or for match up purposes only, Lakers, Celtics, etc. - what's it like traveling with the team... best part for Jason = spend more quality time with the team to know them as regular people - Jason spending time talking with Yao about Transformers... and other nerdy things The End! I did my best with the recap.. but if you can listen in case I missed anything
i like the spirited practice session part (especially t-mac). last year we were in the dark time after losses to toronto and sixers, and things began to turn around after that. It began with reports of several very good practice sessions.
Thanks for the link and the recap, Hayesfan. It's going to be really interesting how this team responds to this "crisis."
I think Rockets managment is hoping T-mac will be fine in the long run. I don't think there's any reason not to expect that. The real concern I have is just with guys getting healthy.
