does any one have idea of the players who will be invited to camp officialy or otherwise? ------------------
Outside of the one's already on the roster, I've only seen two that were supposed to be invited. One is point guard Stais Boseman and the other is forward Alex Jensen. Jensen probably will not come to Rockets camp preferring to test the waters in a place where he actually has a shot at making the roster. Boseman is a 6'2" guard with very good defensive skills. If Drew is moved, he could make a run at the third point guard spot and possibly a long-term minor injury on the IR. Other than that, the training camp roster looks like this: Francis Anderson Williams Taylor Olajuwon Cato Mobley Thomas Bullard Rogers Drew Langhi Collier Norris With Boseman, that makes 15 meaning constant five on five drills with 5 to rotate in from the bench which is the way most training camps are run. Normally, 15 players are the most any camp will have because that would be a full roster if you count a full three-man IR. ------------------ Save Our Rockets and Comets SaveOurRockets.com
Utah's ABC Affilite said that Alex Jenson signed with a team in Istanbul. ------------------ Cuttino Mobley Online
I saw Boseman play in one of the RMR games and liked what I saw. But what I saw was a lot of offense, too. Of course he's playing against duds-to-be in many cases in those games, but still looked good doing it. He was hustling his tail off which I'm sure impresses Rudy. ------------------ Falk that Mo Fo!!!
From the archives Rayford Young to get a shot at veteran camp? POSTED: AUGUST 7, 2000 10:48 AM According to Telebasket <http://www.telebasket.com/news.asp?id_art=24838>, 5'10" point guard Rayford Young, who played for the Rockets at the Rocky Mountain Revue <revue.cfm>, has torn up his contract with Sweden and will probably get a shot at making the Rockets squad at veteran camp this October, though Young making the team is highly unlikely From Clutch RMR Rayford Young Explosive scorer -- his junior season once scored 32 points on Kansas... in the final 9 minutes of the game (41 total). Also dropped a 36-point bomb last year on Iowa State in Tech's season finale. Unfortunately, with Steve Francis and Moochie Norris locks to be Rockets and Bryce Drew sure to be dealt as a result of that, it's unlikely there's a spot on the roster for a 5'11" point guard. Stais Boseman This 6'4" guard averaged 16 points per game at USC his senior season in 1997 and formed a tough duo with, ironically enough, ex-Rocket Rodrick Rhodes. Was considered underrated at Pac-10 and can play both guard positions. Never projected to be drafted by NBA scouts, Boseman was drafted out of college in the fourth round of the CBA by the Rockford Lightning and presumably has been there since. ------------------ "Never give a sucker an even break.
