i always wonder about this, at least when it applies to their finals year. that year, as the 8th seed, they won 27 games (lockout year), and the 1 seed miami won 33 games. even over an 82 games season, that's 9 games separating 8 teams. since every team can't finish with the exact same record, that's about as close as you're going to get. it was like a bunch of mediocre teams playing and one of them had to come out on top. you've obviously done something right if you're the one team, but it was about as even and mediocre a conference as you'll ever find. plus, the best team was the team the knicks matched up best with. and then they got run by a real playoff team. but i guess i can hope we go off in the playoffs.
I fear that unless... 1. Yao has a physical to prove "they" have "dropped" which gives him the confidence to play like a "man." 2. Steve and JVG go to the Supercenter and purchase an iron for their differences. 3. Our PF's start grabbing the loose ball off the missed shots for silky string music put backs. 4. Our home announcer is replaced by someone that can actually get the crowd involved enough to give the team the illusion that the fans in the TC actually may give a crap. ...then A-Train may be exactly right. And the real miracle in my list would be #4. If that were to happen then all of the other things would have already taken place, and just maybe hell would have a smoothie bar installed. It's too early to tell, but there is a hidden reality that many aren't seeing. When you look at the road ahead... you'll realize it's all uphill from here. Believe it. Again.
Regarding number 3, Cato has always been a solid board man and Mo Taylor has almost doubled his rebounding from last season and his averaging more/48. Regarding A-Train being right; again, you're banking on one of three bad teams that have been swooning and are trying to stay ahead of the Clip show (and whose schedules likewsie get more difficult) to turn it on and make up a significant run, as well as Memphis and Denver not faltering either. There is no evidence to support this presumption.
Just basing it on recent "winning record without playoffs" performances. That's all. The Rockets do seem capable of going south. While the Nuggets and Grizz... and Jazz all have the potential to go up. I've seen stranger.
yeah i really don't get this it all, not sure why they post on the garm at all..... can't imagine why anybody would want to spend any time in their life doing something that takes up so much time like watching a sporting team play and talk about them on an internet message board... when you don't enjoy and seem to get a kick out their failures
Who cares what Denver and Memphis record is? The Rockets don't need to finish better than they do to make the playoffs. The closest team is the jazz, which is 4.5 games back-- not very close. Why do the Rockets "seem capable of going south" while the Jazz have "the potential to go up"? Rockets in Oct -Nov 9-7 Jazz in Oct-Nov 10-6 Rockets in Dec 8-7 Jazz in Dec 8-8 Rockets in Jan 9-6 Jazz in Jan 7-9 Rockets in Feb 3-1 Jazz in Feb 1-3 And the Jazz lost their second leading scorer for the season. They have been getting worse and worse as the season goes on. They havve basically been a mirror iimage of the rockets after the first month in the WL column. Yet people think its more likely that they will get better?
No he can't. Didn't he make a bet or something and now he has to leave the board for good? Thank god...
